Halo infinite is free to play and on PC . Something Halo 5 never had so to compare them on numbers is pointless.
Ok so is a shot gun able.to fling me half way across the map? Like think bro THINK. Use your head. Im specifcally talking about movement abilites. It doesn’t matter how powerful the power weapon is it will never be able to fling you across the map like the grapple can. You can’t compare a power weapon to a grapple
I’m sorry but you will flop every time trying to explain it
I sympathize with the OP. I’m currently working on a “win 3 CTF” challenge. Of course I’m struggling to get a CTF match. And when I do, I’ve been on the losing team four times in a row now…two times a teammate went AFK.
See I don’t mind the challenges even the play a certain mode x amount of times of get a certain amount of kills with x weapon. As it makes you tryout new weapons and get better. Yeah it’s frustrating to have to play 3 oddball games and you only get CTF modes. A game mode selection tab would solve that.
The problem with challenges is when they are they only way to progress the battle pass, which then forces people to forget about the game mode they are playing and focus on challenges. Challenges should be something that’s part of natural game play. Something to do without having to go out of your way to accomplish at the detriment to your team.
A balance needs to be found between progress and challenges that’s fun and rewarding. Weather they can accomplish that is yet to be seen. As 343 seem to be in a reactionary work mode rather than a pro active and sorting issues before the become major problems.time will tell but I don’t thing they have long to sort it before they lose to much of the player base.
So true, these are both major issues, especially the hackers not having a barrier to entry.
Lmfao, so false. The game is nearly dead on Steam already my guy, and in a month when everyone’s fully finished with everything the campaign has to offer the numbers will be at MCC levels. And before you blindly reply “Nuh Uhhhhhh!” go look at the steam charts and remember that many of these players are people playing the campaign that just released.
And as for the “free content” none of it’s free. It’s coming at the cost of my game not being a complete product. Many MANY of the features I used to get with a Halo game on DAY 1 are not here. My customization is impossible to do, I’m not allowed to color my spartan myself and I can’t earn armors, I have to buy them or just keep grinding. That is the cost.
Okay where did you buy this crystal ball where you can see into the future and predict the population a month from now.
Come on man steam charts don’t represent the majority of Infinite players… Infinite has topped xbox game charts as the most played game since it came out.
Oh I see the problem, you think console gamers are the majority. I hate to break it to you buttercup but PC has far far far more players than Xbox, why do you think Microsoft came crawling back begging for PCMR support. You thinking Halo, cod and bf were the only shooters at the time of Halo 3 shows how little you know. Is the fact that you are having to argue with multiple different people in this thread not enough for you to see your opinions are in the extreme minority?
Lmao does this dude not understand how game population trends work? No one needs a crystal ball to see what happens days, weeks and months after a game release, and what happens to games that are miserably launched with nothing to do and features that were expected but are missing entirely. It’s pretty consistent across the board and in today’s gaming landscape the mass majority of gamers tend to move on to a new game after roughly a month.
The dude is calling everyone that doesn’t agree with him “whiny kids” while simultaneously claiming we all think everyone should agree with us. The dudes irony is freaking palpable. He also somehow thinks Xbox has more users then steam/PC so I mean he’s not the brightest bulb in the box.
Except you would think PC players are not exclusive to steam, but a majority of them are on gamepass on pc. So Steam numbers aren’t A representation of the entire pc population. Nice try you can say whatever you want about me. I’m not the one whining and complaining on every forum post calling people who love Infinite part of the problem.
I call you whining kids because you don’t provide constructive criticism . You just insult people like a child. I guess the internet is a safe place to do so
If you can’t be civil then no one will take you seriously in life
Psssst Xbox charts include Xbox app on pc which is gamepass users. You are arguing with several different people and calling us whiny kids while simultaneously talking about being civil. You’re a dude.
I come on these forums to talk about Halo with others. You replied to me first saying I bend over for 343, so my point stands about whining kids. I’m not even trying to argue you just never seem to be wrong
And exactly my point. Xbox game charts include PC. So Steam charts aren’t as important as you’re making it out to be
Okay bud. Please let me know when the population drops to MCC and I’ll say I was wrong then. Until then let’s agree to disagree. I’m sure I’ll see you on other forum posts anyways insulting people for enjoying the game.
Your first reply to me you called me “tone-deaf”. I’m sure you didn’t mean for that to come across as an insult but it did. And all because I share a different opinion than you. We can discuss things like adults or you can keep letting your emotions do the talking.
This is not even what the post is about anyways so I’m outta here. I think you should just give up. Halo Infinite is great and you’ll always be unhappy with the game. You should play something else, for your own sake bro
The MCC has a PvE and a PvP, that’s the first difference that really stands out for me. You can do the PvE challenges in the campaign solo, not distracted by having to capture a flag or holding the ball and disrupting the teams overall objective.
I have been reading a lot of criticism across the forums and from what I can gather, the main complaint for challenges is the distraction from the main objective. Example - CTF and someone has a challenge of 5 sword kills. The flag is completely ignored in favour of getting a sword and getting 5 kills. The next biggest criticism seems to be, why bother? A lot of items are locked behind a paywall.
Honestly, I have a cattle farm, so I have a million things to do in real life and I drop in for a game whenever I can ( only up to Level 2 at the moment ). Friends my age will watch some Cricket or Aussie Rules, for a time-out, I play Halo. When I do drop in for a game of Infinite, I don’t even bother checking what the challenge is, if I complete a challenge it is simply a fluke. On top of that, I do the MCC challenges, pop in for a game of Halo 5, to keep my rank there ticking up and because I can do PvE or PvP. That spreads my Halo time even thinner. I am getting older and I am finding the PvP in Infinite a bit of a sweatfest.
MY OPINION - the unlocks for Infinite are lackluster and I’m really not to concerned with acquiring them, a huge amount have to be purchased anyway. Coatings are set e.g. if I want red on black, I can’t. I have to get black on red, then the red on black and so forth. It would be nice if the outer hexagon could be adjusted. I look over my Halo 5 list, hundreds of helmets, armours, power weapons etc. The colour of my spartan is just selected. In MCC I have unlocked some amazing armours. To look at my Reach or Halo 3 spartan, it is pretty impressive. Customisation is great, but I am by no means obsessive about it, so it doesn’t cause me a lot of FOMO. However, a lot are quite obsessed with customisation, these players give me the impression, that FOMO is sucking the fun from the game.
P.S. I am getting the campaign for christmas. My wife has hidden it so well, that I can’t find it. I first ratted around under the tree, then searched the house, then begged her to just give it to me, but to no avail. All our finances are combined, so I know that she spent $99 AUD on the disc. If Infinite had been bundled like Guardians, I would have paid $150, hell, even $200, to avoid the paywall. That is one criticism that I will level, for me, a 20 year Halo fan, the game has been split in half.
@TyroneRundaGang This is of course true, there are always exceptions. Even these rare exceptional games decline in population, just not at the same rate. Based on the data, and the sheer number of issues with Infinite, it doesn’t appear to be an exception to the rule. It’s declined significantly from launch, and will continue to do so once campaign excitement has passed. We keep getting more and more bandaids (playlist variety bandaid coming soon, XP progression has multiple bandaids right now) but we need all of the expectations players have of a Halo game to be met, and quickly.
