These add nothing physical to gameplay, but make you a target in MP which will encourage competition.
You obtain them from the player you killed most in a match in Halo 4. When the game ends, you obtain your most killed enemy’s personalized Dog Tag will now be in your posession, for you to read at any time when looking at your Service Record. BUT, you only get to keep it if you win the game. Meaning, you cant dogpile on a single player.
An alternate idea(posted in this thread by community) is Dag Tag ranks. You take dog tags via assassinations. If you assassinate a guy, you get a bronze version of his tag. Do it twice to the same guy, get a sliver version. A third time, get gold. But so players dont focus on a single player and his tag, you ONLY get to keep your tags if you win the game.
The amount of different dog tags you’ve collected in your career will be displayed on your Service Record for the world to see, as well as 3 dog tags of your choosing that will have a player’s name displayed.
Players can customize their tag; It will display by default your GT, your emblem engraved into the tag, tag count, and your rank. You may write down a personalized slogan, your “job description”(soldier, merc, assassin, ninja, hitman, gangster, ect), and your preferred equipment.
With these, players would gain street cred. The more tags you have(especially special tags owned by 343 employees and popular “tag collecters”), the more players will attempt to take yours. Imagine a guy with tag count of 100,000, and his listed top 3 are all 343i Tags. Everyone would try to aim for the head, but theyd still have to kill eachother if they wanna keep em.
Of course, the collecting of these can be toggled for some MM playlists.
