Halo Spartan Assault doesn’t work on the Dell Venue 8 Pro 8" tablet. The screen does not layout correctly and touch targeting is off.
+1 same for me.
Sure wish I would have read this before paying seven bucks for a game that doesn’t react right… oh well maybe the will find a fix to this issue ;(
Same here, Venue 8 Pro and the game is all jacked. Kinda sucks, cause I really like the game, but my wife doesn’t want me using her RT for playing while she’s not at home
I have a video recording of the incident on my Acer W4 here.

If anyone from the development team is actually reading this, on the Acer W4 the graphic driver’s 0 degree rotation configuration is actually portrait oriented so querying the driver would get you 800x1280 instead of 1280x800.
It’s a funny driver because it still tells Windows correctly about landscape and landscape flipped orientations.
In any case, it’s a software issue which I hope will get fixed soon.
Same here for my Toshiba Encore 8"…I can select a couple of the icons, but the targeting is so far off that it is almost completely random. I even tried plugging in a mouse and still had the same issue.
I wonder if HSO is calibrated for a 10" screen, since I noticed that the “Spartan Assault” logo extends past the sides of the screen on startup.
Another +1 from me, seems to be rendering in portrait despite the tablet bring in landscape.
not working on my venue pro too. didnt msft show this working on a small tablet in a commercial?!
pretty disappointed, hopefully this is fixed quickly.
I thought Spartan Assault can ONLY be released on the Microsoft SURFACE w/Windows 8 or a Desktop that has Windows 8?

My Toshiba encore is running Windows 8…
Same here, really sucks I can’t play it on my Dell Venue 8 Pro. It works great on my original surface rt. Is anyone working on a solution for this? Is there any settings I could change to get it to work?
I just got rid of my Surface and bought a Lenovo 8in tablet. I love the smaller size. But Halo Assault and some other apps seem to have their screens messed us and inputs don’t work. I’m guessing it’s because the apps were hard coded to the original Windows 8 screen resolutions? Now that Windows 8.1 is out the smaller sizes aren’t working. Does anyone have the same issue with a larger screen or with using Windows 8(.0)?
Going to move this to the Halo Support section. We are aware of this problem and are working on a resolution. I understand this is frustrating but don’t fret too much, we are working to help you out.
