A lot of players and clans only care about those with high K.D.A
but i wonder to myself does it
actually matter for Halo fans and players;.
Yes and no, but it can be misleading.
Yes, for people who are hyper-competitive in the community and want to have the “best” companies with everyone having high KD counts.
No, for people who really could care less and are just having fun with the game.
It’s misleading because of several factors, but a high KD doesn’t necessarily mean you’re good at the game. You could be playing lower-level competition. Or de-ranking to destroy worse players. At the higher, more competitive levels of play, you don’t see absurdly high KD ratios typically… they’re closer to a 1/1 ratio because better players = better competition and everyone is good, so it’s hard for anyone to destroy other good players with any real consistency.
Oh boy, another KDA thread.
Honestly, it depends if you’re a casual or a competitive player. That’ll fill out most of your paperwork.
If you have around a 1 K/D or 4 KDA it usually means you are playing people around your skill level more than not.
Yes, I want my stats to look decent.
I will always try to go positive. I feel a bit ashamed when I go negative. Though there are certain situations which would not make me care if I go negative. One would be if I faced a try hard team. There would be no way of going positive in those situations. I just shrug it off.
I dont care if i got negative i just dont want to be the reason my team loses lol
Nah, not so much in Halo 5. With the ranking system, I find the better games are the closer pinches, not a runaway victory, and a k.d. closer to 1 shows that. In a game with a clear ranking system, a high k.d. just suggests that you play a lot of casual playlists to farm kills or you smurf to farm kills or you play Slayer in objective games to farm kills.
In Halo Reach I was a lot more proud of my k.d., seeing as the game lacked a ranking system and was just one hot soupy mess of a matchmaking system.

ur saying the KD mattered more in reach which had no ranks?

No, just that I didn’t feel too strongly about having a level k.d. because there were no ranked playlists to actually test my skill, just casual playlists where I could be that jerk who gets a lot of kills
KDA means very little in Halo 5. Mostly due to the fact that it will vary depending on the skill of the players your playing. For example if you compare a gold player with a 2.0 KD and a Onyx player with a 1.5 KD the Onyx player is likely better regardless of his lower KD. I wouldn’t worry about it to much as long as your positive.

To me, at least, it doesn’t matter at all. Although i’m competitive, I really don’t look at KD anymore, there are quite a few factors that make the actual ratio obscure, and not as accurate as it should be.

No.
Yep, it’s more or less a more accurate representation of skil, beyond just K/D… You get a sense of how they play with teams as well, with the incorporation of assists, which also allude to additional damage dealt beyond just your kills.
A good player will put shots on everything that moves. You see a guy across the map? Pepper them with shots, call him out, and if a teammate is in position, they can clean them up.
Really trying to get closer to 4.0… I’ve been stuck right at 3.7 for a long time now!
The casual players could care less about K.D unlike more competitive players.
My answer’s kind of yes and no. To me, personally, the most important part of a game is that I have fun doing it, but at the same time, I do like to have a good KDA. There are some instances where I just screw around, and usually don’t do so great, but because I had fun just messing around, my low KD from that round doesn’t bother me. : )
Personally, kind of.
I only really care if my kd is below 1. Other than that no. I’m not a super competative player and having high stats have never really interested me. Having a high kd tells me two things, you’re good at the game, and you play a ton. You need to play a lot to maintain a high kd. And while this is fine and all, it probably means you’re not fun to play with.
Doesn’t matter to me at all. H5 stats are all connected so your kd isn’t very accurate IMO.
Not really in this game because it includes ranked and social stats which isn’t an accurate representation of your skill.
