do you think using thrusters as another form of strafing during combat can help win one on ones ?
Yes and no. If you have good aim and a quick trigger go for it. Otherwise dont. The short animation of thrusting may be enough to lose the fight.
One on ones are few and far in between however.
If you know how to play ‘claw’ then by all means YES.
I could be one shot going into a 1v1 gunfight and manage to win with a well timed thrust.
If you don’t play claw then i wouldn’t recommend doing it, especially if you play bumper jumper because i know for a fact that that’d mess up your aim attempting to thrust and shoot at the same time.
It’s entirely situational. I personally like to use mine to try and get behind someone and force them to spin around though.
It’s helped me a few times - especially when the other player moves out of view, I thrust sideways to help line up the shot again. I’ve also used it to jump+thrust behind an enemy I noticed creeping up behind me.
It is very helpful if you play on the recon control scheme. It puts thrust onto the Left Bumper so it means that you can easily aim while you wait for the animation to let you start shooting again. Thrusting around the corner really screws with some people to.

Same on the Halo 4/Reclaimed scheme
It can help sometimes. Depends on the situation. I’m having a lot of fun playing with it and trying new things. Trial and error is always good. It also really helps you catch more stickies when you get the timing down. This games learning curve is much deeper than the people are giving it credit for.
