Because it feels that way in this game. I get so turned around in menus. I hit “back” multiple times but don’t always end up where I started, such as the top-level lobby menu the game launches to. Navigating post-game information can most charitably be described as cumbersome, but I find it to really just be exceedingly confusing. The customization menu is the worst offender, in my view.
When I hover over a customization category, I believe the BIG FONT should be emphasizing the category I am going to be modifying, not what I already have equipped (which is information I presumably already know, hence why I’m trying to change it). Additionally, a layout change that more clearly indicates which part of the body you are changing would go a long way, perhaps having it represented in the shape of a human body (click on the head, you’ll change head stuff… click on right arm, you’ll get arm stuff, etc.). When I click into a category to change, having things laid out as a grid rather than a horizontal scrollable bar would also be an improvement to clarity and seeing more at a glance.
Customization is a real strength of this game and clearly something the devs intend to focus on as a selling point. The process of customizing should therefore be enjoyable.
