Does this mean no Double EXP Weekends???!

Hello Waypointers,

I know the title may be a bit silly, but I made this because I discovered this link.
And then this to prove my point.

I’m sorry that I made this if there was one already made.

Does anyone know how long those Double EXP codes last for? Because they didn’t mention anything about it at all. Would we actually get Double EXP Weekends instead of redeeming codes from Mountain Dew and Doritos?

Thanks.

  1. They last for a set amount of matches based on how many codes you acquire.

  2. No, this does not mean 2x EXP weekends are out of the question. The promotion ends in Jan. Therefore has no relevance after that.

  3. MW3 had a similar marketing with MTN Dew last year and they still hold double EXP weekends. So why shouldn’t Halo?

These 2 make Double EXP playlists possible.

I would expect Double EXP playlists to start in mid-2013.

I’m just glad Flood Mode has been confirmed to be a permanent playlist, and not a Double EXP playlist possibility

Right, well that’s okay then. Thanks for clearing that up for me. It’s just I got a little bit confused because they didn’t exactly mention the expirey dates of the codes.

I didn’t think about MW3’s because… I just didn’t.

I wouldn’t say Halo shouldn’t at all. Halo definitely deserves Double EXP codes to give away and Double EXP Weekends because it’s a perfect way to attract other players to progress their rankings and have lots of fun. Just like good ol’ Halo 3 times.

Did you even look at the official rules? It’s right there on the site.

I hope we see a ton of double xp weekend playlists…

I miss the Halo 3 times when Grifball, Infection, Team Snipers, SWAT, Fiesta etc were only on double exp weekends. So much people playing them, when they became their own playlists, the fun sort of died on them, and so did the population.

I prefer knowing I can play some of my favorite game types without the thought in the back of my head saying ‘enjoy this while you can because you likely wont be able to play this mode for another month’

In my opinion, that’s what made the playlists so special. But I can see your point of view, I just said that’s my opinion, no what 343i MUST do.

There is always custom games.

I don’t think PepsiCo’s little double EXP code thing will last for very long, think about it, MW3’s thing isn’t going on right now, I got a MD from the local gas station the other day, and it wasn’t MW3’s XP mountain dew, it was your normal mountain dew.

I also don’t think 343i wouldn’t do double XP weekends, it’s a very popular thing.

I really hope double XP weekends do come back, the way they were in H3 with weekend playlists of different gametypes/takes on gametypes that typically aren’t in matchmaking.

Not only do they add some variety but they do a lot of work in attracting players and keeping them playing, having a positive effect on the population.

Double XP weekends were the best. Ah good memories.
