Does the Xbox brand need more mascots?

Xbox has the Master chief and the Halo franchise as a poster child as well as other IPs such as Gears and Forza representing them however would Xbox benefit from new mascot characters/IPs? lots of kids and teens today aren’t aware of “The Master chief” or “Marcus Fenix”. should Microsoft promote already established characters/IPs they own as mascots such as Joanna Dark since there’s a new Perfect Dark reboot on the horizon? or Ori since both Ori games are critically loved ORRRRR should characters like Banjo or the Battletoads be used as mascots? (they are soooo mascot material)
Do you want all-new mascot IPs? Tell me your thoughts!

I feel like they have a good amount but, should do more cross over. For instance how the arbiter and general raam is in killer instinct

Damn do kids really not know who master chief is? When I was like 11 I would straight up daydream I was him beating the covenants -Yoink-

They really don’t. Halo was the most popular game back when we were kids, but that’s not the case anymore. COD, Fortnite, Apex, PUBG (for a minute), and many other games have all surpassed Halo. I love Halo, but what started out as a worldwide phenomenon has turned into a niche franchise.

To answer you OP, yes Xbox needs more mascots. I wish Chief was all they needed to remain on top, but that’s not the case anymore.

Steve from Minecraft should be a pretty easy/prominent mascot for Xbox to use. I would expect that Kait from Gears will be featured more going forward as well.

With Xbox’s recent announcements that their studios are working on IPs like Perfect Dark, Fable, Hellblade, Starfield, The Elder Scrolls, Indiana Jones, Avowed, (probably) The Outer Worlds, Grounded and Psychonauts; I don’t think they will be having too much of a problem with their mascots in the future.

I think they should stick to Chief for now, at least until Halo Infinite is released.

Are you saying for marketing? Couldn’t hurt. I’d imagine when the Bethesda deal goes through and if they make their games exclusive, characters like doom guy will become “mascots”.

I mean in the same way Sonic was a mascot for the genesis/mega drive or Crash or Spyro was for the Playstation 1 back in the 90s.

Eh. Not really in my eyes since master chief is iconic now more then any other gaming character probably
