This isnt meant to cause hate. Because we all know this forum is full of it. But does anyone else think that the Splaser is due for an upgrade? Its gotten downgraded with every halo. I used to love using this weapon on standoff on halo 3 not just against vehicles but players. It was so good against other players as well as vehicles.
Halo 4: if I hit somebody in the hand or foot with a “FRICKEN LASER BEAM” they should be dead. It can go through the thick armor plating of a wraith but can’t kill a spartan? If a laser of that caliber hit your hand i think it would be gone. Not just knock out your shields.
The mantis: I know the mantis has its weaknesses. The laser however. Isnt. If the mantis has full shields and gets lasered, it only loses its shields. I find this a problem when ever I play on ragnarok. I shouldnt kill the mantis in one shot. But maybe 2 or 3.
So say the mantis has 100%shields and 100% health
The laser should be upgraded to do maybe 133.3% to 150% damage against the mantis.
343s reasoning behind the weak laser: I suspect that its weak against other players just so that the Splaser is a purely anti vehicle weapon.
I just hate when I use one of my precious FOUR laser shots against a spartan and hit him, but not kill him.
It needs a buff. The spartan laser fires rapid mini lasers to count as one continuous blast. This is why people can do laser drags, but those individual shots considerably are weaker than Reach’s (each single laser would either be a OHK to a spartan or tear their shields and wound their health) I’ve noticed that the H4 laser is probably the most irritating weapon in the game. Reach’s splaser worked fine because the average enemy couldn’t sprint for cover or spawn in with precision weapons sometimes (I have no problem with sprint or loadouts, so don’t be quoting me on this with a reason to get rid of them). I believe the individual mini lasers of the splaser should be as powerful as in reach and probably take a half second off the charge.
LAWLZ!!! This is too funny. I love the laser. I like picking off dopes in open ground just to show them how easy it is to destroy baddies who don’t know how to use cover. Double kills for days against Warthogs and Scorpions. It’s hilarious watching people get all panicked and run in circles when they see my bead on their heads…
It needs a buff. Speed up its charge. Give it a better reticule. increase its aim assist. I have literally gotten hitmarkers on 1shot people with the h4 laser.
I think it may need a slight buff, sometimes I will Splaser someone, and I won’t get a kill. It seems like now, you need to keep the reticule on the guy for a second or so, whereas before it was just one big burst that killed anybody and almost anything in one shot.
It definitely does need both a damage and accuracy buff. Hit registering isn’t the problem. If it knocks a spartan’s shields off, the hit is obviously registered, it just did an unreasonably small amount of damage. What you said with the Mantis makes sense to me, and also if a spartan gets hit on the leg or arm with a laser, that should still be a one-hit kill, at least until the advent of some sort of unnecessary limb-removal mechanic.
