Seems like pros complain about every weapon that isn’t the BR. Maybe they should just play Swat with shields and let the rest of us enjoy the game as it is.

How about just adjusting the pad it spawns on? If the “pistol” type weapon is chosen to be a mangler make the pad it is chosen to spawn on be a red pad, but dont make it replace the shotgun spawn location.

Really I would increase mangler respawn time and/or lower ammo amount. Just do ffa - top pick ups are the power weapons of course and the main power up - after that - it’s mangler.
