I know there’s some people who enjoy Halo Wars but how many of the Halo community doesn’t?
I personally only enjoy it because I’m a big fan of Halo. As a strategy game player for over 20 years… it’s a pretty bare-bones and simplistic strategy experience. If it wasn’t tied to the lore I enjoy so much, I would have a much more difficult time playing either of the titles.
Let’s just say that all the admiration, good reviews and player count for Wars 1 and 2 isn’t coming from the strategy game faithful. That said, if someone wanted to get into strategy games or hadn’t played many (or was looking to shift from turn-based to real time), Halo Wars is the exact series I’m pointing them at to get their foot in the door.
I love the game for the story and the fun that could be had in the non-pvp modes. I’m just not very good at PvP in these types of game.
I really enjoyed the games, but it always felt like a side dish so I never played the MP or stuck around as long as I did with the main titles. Still I had loads of fun and think they were worth every dollar that they cost.

Same
I sure love the Halo Wars series especially as a huge RTS fan. I don’t know any Halo fans that would hate the game, but perhaps not enjoy it as much as it’s not your typical Halo installment.
Cheers!
Halo Wars 1 & 2 are literally the only RTS games I’ve ever played. And the only reason I ever gave them a shot is because they are Halo titles, I love them just as much as I love the FPS varieties we all enjoy
