I’m seriously wondering if it does cause I’ve had a lot of matches like this one. I asked after the match if they had joined as a team and 3 of them said they were solo, which means no.

And yes we got demolished. I’ve had, and seen, worse match-ups but they’re less frequent. These types of match-ups though are more common.

we are a group of 3 - on platin, one gold, one silver
where often ranked with 3-4 platin players and one gold.
also, after me (silver) opened up the games… did not change anything in matching…

Yeah I tried that too, I was hoping I could start a match in my division with my friend but because he’s top platinum we always end up in his division. I wouldn’t even be mad if it just happened once in a while… but I get thrown into a lot of games where I’m outclassed, or my teammates will be. I don’t mind being on teams with new players, just make the other team new too lol.
It’s worse now cause I’m in a phase where I’m no longer a noob but I’m not good at the game yet. Maybe I should try to find some people to join cause solo is getting rough.

I know it’s a good thing to go up against tougher players so you learn faster, but it would be nice to have more even matches to see if I’ve gotten better. When you’re getting destroyed constantly by high level players you don’t feel like you’re progressing much.
No there is no team balance in H5. You have to realize if you don’t have a regular team of 4 the 4v4 playlist won’t go to well for you a lot of the times. Mostly because of the really low population now. They don’t have a big pool of players to make games with. As a solo player myself I stuck strictly to FFA the most, then BTB and then war zone.
I’m beginning to wonder if this is becoming a problem with Halo 5’s multiplayer.
I had a +1 k/d ratio before I took some time off and when I came back…my k/d has been hovering around a .4. Yikes.
This is not a ranking system that makes any real measurement of individual skill and account for it when creating match-ups.

Thank you. I use match making and That’s probably why I’ve been doing so bad in team based slayer.
The overall idea seems good, but so far it isn’t manifesting itself well. Well balanced matches are few and far between. And this is made worse by the fact that a team of randoms can face off against a partied team.

I keep hearing this game isn’t as populated as it should be. Is that based on region or just overall?
It’s hard to imagine a Halo game that’s only 3 months old not being one of the most popular games on Xbox.
