So I know this sounds a little strange given it’s the 26th century but all commonwealth countries still train in charges despite the tactic being at a mechanical level redundant thanks to just about all modern technology but because the UNSCMC draws from multiple nations I wonder if this training has been maintained. Ideas?
Given then tenacious ferocity of the Covenant in close quarters combat, I’d say not.
I mean, when foes wield energy swords there’s not much competition. -At least for humans without augmentations (ie- Marines Corps, ODST)

Maybe not charges, per say, but ‘fix bayonets’ is probably still under the UNSC Army/Marine Corps training regimen. If nothing else than because a blade at the end of your rifle gives one a slight advantage in CQB over a knife-wielding insurgent, or at least carries an additional discouragement over the aggressor getting close.
Well the fact that Energy Bayonet’s exist and are used in War Games similations means that they are used, well more than just used they evolved.
Given the advancements in Bayonet’s they would pretty much have to
