im currently playing through the campaign on legendary. I found some hydras and I was wondering, if I gave them to the AI would they have infinite ammo? The only reason I’m asking this is because I swear I heard a while ago they don’t now.
They should ??
They do have infinite ammo, I’ve dropped snipers or rockets with only 1 shot left in them to have the A.I. pick them up and continuously use them.
But on legendary good luck keeping them alive long enough. Also for whatever reason the A.I. characters carry 2 weapons at all times, so if they pick up your spent power weapons they have a super bad habit of switching back to their garbage side arm and rarely using the one you told them to pick up.
Though I’m sure this was intentional so they don’t just wreck the enemies while you sit back waiting for them to sound the all clear.

Thanks. I gave it too them. Surprisingly though, I’m halfway through the second mission (I’m at the reactor room part) and they haven’t failed to have been revived yet so they still have all the weapons I gave them. Legendary is an absolute -Yoink- tho.
Honestly, with the excepting of a particular boss battle on the 14th mission, this legendary campaign is very simple and all you’ll need your AI for is revives.
Usually all enemies and allies never run out of ammo. Not sure about halo 5, but normally higher level enemies sometimes don’t even seem to need to reload.

Thanks for the data, I was wondering myself.

They use the power weapons on bosses and vehicles usually but spend most of the time using their standard weapon, I think it’s to stop them being too OP.

In every Halo game, the artificial intelligence has infinite ammo. Plus if they were Sergent Johnson, infinite lives until Halo 3. May he rest in peace.
Always have… Other wise they would have to use “Struggle”
I think they do but the ai are limited when it comes to reviving
