Does the AR/SMG still have a headshot multiplier?

I used to hate the idea of adding headshot bonuses to automatics back during the beta, but now I’m just thinking “With proper tweaks, could they have added to the competitive aspect of Halo?” I’m not sure if they still remain (with a smaller effect), or have been removed as a whole, but I’m really pondering whether or not they were such a bad thing had they been balanced properly.

All they did was take away the shielded headshot damage bonus. But they also made the bloom smaller and added the center dot of the reticle for targeting.

why the hell was there a shielded headshot bonus in the first place?!?!

That would explain why during some battles the player’s health appears to deplete in a flash. I can definitely believe this, but to be safe, can you give a source?

In This video at the beginning and near the end the player aims the AR at the head of the eniemes and they go down faster.

Almost every weapon in the beta had some form of increased damage to the head. I even got a red hit-marker from a Rocket Launcher headshot once. They also took it away for the pistol and Light Rifle as well.
