does swat really make you a better slayer player?

what’s your opinion? a lot of people ask “how do I get better in slayer?” and from what I’ve heard, people say “just play SWAT bro”.
or do you think it makes no difference?
or maybe it makes you worst because there’s it doesn’t teach you how to use other weapons, need any power weapon/power up control, etc.

Here’s my top 8 reasons why I feel SWAT makes you better player:
8. Improve aiming. SWAT teaches you to aim at the head, all the time every time. this will improve your effectiveness of all scoped weapons like the carbine, light rifle, and sniper rifle.
7. awareness. lack of radar means you need to rely on being aware of your surroundings, audio cues, and visual cues.
6. map control. you will learn the spawns of a map so you can know where the enemy is or most likely where they will go to.
5. sight lines. since SWAT is a one shot kill to the head, you will learn the most vulnerable areas of the map and what angles are the safest.
4. reaction time. since the time to kill is much shorter in swat than slayer, you need to be faster than your opponent.
3. improve 1v1 battles. there’s lots of 1v1 situations in SWAT, since it’s a one shot kill, you need to out manuver your opponent with such techniques as crouch shooting, bunny hopping, strafing, and anything else to get an edge over your opponent.
2. map knowledge. like sight lines, you will learn the safest and fastest routes to certain points of the map, the best escape routes, and even the best places to camp.

  1. good practice for spartan abilities. because there’s no radar in SWAT, ground pounds and spartan charging is easier to do because players will be less prepared for it.

SWAT really makes your reaction time and aim better.
So yeah, it makes you a better slayer player.

I do not play it and I do not think that I am bad(I do rule the lobby sometimes). The only thing that swat ever teached me (halo reach) was it how to aim at the right spot

I’d say that Swat is great for training your reaction time and trigger speed, as well as accuracy. I know I tend to do better in most game types after warming up with swat.

Not really, it’s just one of those things people say.

There is nothing about swat that doesn’t apply to Slayer as well. In swat you wanna be positioned to get the first shot off… Well that’s the same in Slayer too.

Swat is good if you want to practice using precision weapons.

No, not at all

I agree about reaction times and sight lines but I think normal slayer or ffa is better for since you can work on your accuracy while strafing. And ffa is great for learning the spawns
