just want to find out whether people think sprint belongs in halo 5, whether it should be changed from halo 4 type, whether reach type was better, or a new type should be implemented (e.g. sprinting makes ur health lower in exchange for ur speed)
or…should we go back to having no sprint? (h1 2 3)

-Sprint makes Dev’s think they need to make really large maps.
-Sprint counters itself and renders itself pointless.
-It forces you to put down your gun if you are chasing someone, the escapee gets an advantage for no effort.
-Base speed was nerfed to compensate.
I really see nothing good about sprint.
I agree with Ramirez. I dislike sprint.

This.
Also, the NoSprintSlayerPro gametype makes for awesome custom games on remade clasic maps like Santuary and other small maps for clasic Halo 4v4 action.
I like sprint, they just need a gametype w/o it and an option to disable in customs. Also this post will draw a very biased audience, pose the question in a better form and you might get more accurate results.
As I like the idea of fight or flight I don’t mind sprint, it brings a new aspect into the game. Sure it can be annoying sometimes but what isn’t? If you can exploit it to your own favor you’re good.

Dude, it like speeds up gameplay soo much cuz you can like get places faster. DUH!

Implying my 90 year old grandma couldn’t figure out how to abuse sprint.
If it’s annoying, and only serves to reward bad players for over-extending, it has no reason to be in the game.

I know right.
343: Hey guys let’s add sprint to speed up the game. Now lets make maps way larger so sprint has no effect on speeding up the game.
Make up your minds, 343. The only thing sprint does is SLOW DOWN the game by allowing people an easy method of escaping.
For some reason I’m more ok with the sprint in this game then Halo Reach. Since Halo 4 maps are so big I’d say sprint is needed. I wish they made a playlist for small maps and with no sprint.

Maybe exploit was a poor choice of words but I think that’s the essence of everything you do in MP. You use the things at your disposal to gain something from it, whatever that maybe.
I still don’t see why sprint would be a reward for bad players.
Sprint does not belong, as has been stated it allows people to escape that normally wouldnt have because they screwed up. Not to mention it makes the maps really large so it takes about the same time as it would have w/o sprint. It just makes you feel like you are moving faster when in reality it takes roughly the same time to get across map. While this wouldnt be bad couple it with the fact that it slows down gameplay because it allows people to live who normally wouldnt. No it does not belong in halo.
I dont see these huge maps… These maps are large for only BTB and Dominion really. And even then the battles always occur at a few central points, sprinting allows people to react more to their attacks than to turn and be screwed because you both have the same weapon and the other guy has a head start.
Sure it is annoying when people run behind corners, but that has been annoying since online started. Sprint is not a new concept, it is great for weapons like the energy sword. I used to get killed b/c people could just walk backwards and shoot. Now they have to turn around and run or face me head on.

WOW! Halo 4 maps are small compared to the Halo 1 and 2. If anything they need to make them bigger with more open spots.

Non-sprint didn’t allow for poor decision making and therefore you weren’t handed the kill. Sprint does and that is why you are able to kill them so easily now.

RAMIREZ! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
lol sorry for mw2 reference
Here we are again with more people that don’t want to move forward. Halo is a military game there is no reason why Halo shouldn’t have sprint in it. Plus there is no way in hell someone is going to walk around on the battlefield it only makes since to have this in halo.

Should logic come at the expense of the way the game plays and balance?
been asked for by the community for years, glad its here to stay.
BTW, it allows “bad” players to escape yes, it also allows “good” players to get to advantageous positions quicker.
I like it. It always bugged me that billion dollar governmental super-soldiers wearing state of the art power-armor who can jump ten feet in the air and flip a tank over with one hand were unable to jog at a medium pace for a short distance.
Sprint isn’t that bad, what are we going to complain about next, looking up and down? Halo 5 should be like DOOM, only horizontal camera movement!
