Does someone want to eplain why a 2 shot weapon is in SWAT?

Seriously 2 shats to the body and your dead when you get mangler swat. They might as well put it in shwatguns and bring the action sack in because it it already hard to get headshots and it is more of a close range weapon. They should just replace with the h3 mauler and bring a banished shotgun in the sandbox.

Thoughts?

Remove every variant but Commando from SWAT.
If SWAT is truly about tactical positioning, flanking and precision, then Commando is the perfect weapon.

Commando:

  • Rewards headshots with instant kills
  • Punishes bodyshots taking up to 8 shots to kill

The perfect skill based weapon for a skill oriented mode. This also makes SWAT the go to mode for getting any Commando Challenges completed.

Don’t know how fun that’d be in the long term, but when I see or hear the word “SWAT”, I do picture a weapon like the commando :sweat_smile:

Commando is a good weapon for swat but we don’t need to keep everything else out like th BR SK and other headshot capability weapons can stay. But if they are two shot weapons the there is no use of getting headshot.

Getting headshots are actually the point of the mode. You donnot have to be “tactical” if you can hit the head first. I honestly don’t understand why they changed the name.

Wut lol. It’s always just been about headshots and that’s it. No actual tactics are involved besides faster gunslinger. Adding the extra weapon variant modes makes it just wacky because it already is.

All the more we should be using Commandos because it rewards Headshots and punishes Bodyshots.

Commando SWAT is the only SWAT mode I’ve enjoyed since Halo 3.

Because of the BR’s slower projectiles in 3, and the custom settings for SWAT increasing player health so that body shots were less damaging, it made H3 SWAT more about the Halo dance and less about pulling the trigger first.

Commando SWAT also has room for the Halo dance, and I’m digging it. Mangler SWAT would also work pretty well if they bumped up player health in it. But SWAT kind of feels wrong with non-human weapons in the first place.

Also I only remembered this after posting. But Magnum SWAT in Reach wasn’t half bad either.

Yes but the Sidekick is spammy and the BR’s burst makes them both easier weapons to headshot with just by firing in the head area. Didn’t you see all the complaints about the Sidekick in Tact Ops event? No one enjoyed Sidekick matches because it was just people hipfire spamming at each other.

i love mangler swat. It encourages people to actually move around instead of camp in a corner and wait for overly enthusiastic players to walk into their line of site.

I love tactical manglers because it takes skill to use at range. You learn how it drops and the speed it takes and it is like a pocket sniper. But it does require learning. Doesn’t help desync keeps everything weird.

Meanwhile the BR is point and shoot. Not shot leading or skill. Just camp the whole match.
Sidekick is inconsistent most of the time (I can’t tell if it is desync or not) but super spammy.
Commando is made to feather shots so it takes more skill. And the shots need some leading.
Stalker rifle works really well in tactical slayer too.
I’m usually not one to say “git gud” because that usually isn’t an argument. But if you’re complaining you can’t get ranged headshots with a weapon with a specific ranged skill gap in a ranged head-shot centric mode, then I can’t help but feel you aren’t learning how the gun works and blaming the gun and not your own skill. Besides, they just nerfed the mangler’s melee anyway, so it is clear 343 wants this gun to be used at range.

They deny it, but the change is definitely to do with the events of 2020. I’m all for the change.

Anyway Mangler Tactical is great IMO. Fights are fast, brutal and brief but nobody’s camping.

TBH I haven’t experienced camperes in swat. The point is the mangler defete’s the purpose of swat wich is the point of the mode, it is cool and i like playing it but it should be in a shwatgun playlist or something else that isn’t swat. Enjoyable but doesn’t fit in with swat.

Going from launch TacS to the current variety in the playlist is a breath of fresh air imo. They just need to weight it so half the games are BR’s and half str split between the variety modes.

Once it can benefit from maps tailored for the mode,
TacS is going to benefit a lot once forge releases in 2038

Taking this in mind what if we just make UNSC swat and Banished swat. We then have sk commando and br on one and sr and mangler on the other. If not this then bring shwatguns and snipers back so we have 1: more modes and 2: weapons that make more sense, for the modes.
