Does skirmishers are just in Halo Reach

I was just asking cause I never saw an alien of this type in the other games of Halo. They look like jackals but they prefer the needle rifle than theneedler and the plasma pistol.

Yes, Skirmishers only appear in Halo Reach. They are cousins of the Jackal and are more agile and can jump much higher. They typically use the Needle Rifle, even more on higher difficulties.

Thank you!

They mainly appear on Reach, but the reason why they don’t appear in future titles, is because the specie got almost extinct during the Fall of Reach. There are still Skirmishers on the Universe, but it looks like they gave up on the war to preserve their specie… At least from my point of view.

EDIT: I forgot to mention but the SPV3 mod for Halo Custom Edition also features Skirmishers. While they are in the game, lore-wise they weren’t present in the Battle of Installation 04.

Thats the canon explanation, yes. They still show up in the expanded lore, including the Kilo-5 novels and more recently Smoke and Shadow. They’re back to their old habits, that is, pirating.
