Does your rank in Halo Reach matter the way you play?
Many factors appear in to this subject.
Ranks on halo reach are based on how much you play the game rather than true skill itself, however, the more you play, considering the vast range of ranks, your skill, on average, should increase due to your accustomed format that is Halo Reach. Although it isn’t always the case, it’s a pretty decent trend.
Also, by being a high rank, most feel entitled that they’re better, and thus try to play better.
It is a good indication of your commitment to the game so I guess in that respect it does matter. But as Angel says above it does not indicate skill. I am an inheritor and have a KD just over 1 and that is average for the game and I would say I am an average player so I guess that is better indicator. But then the game is plagued with that many second accounters now with artificially boosted K/Ds you cant rely on that either.
No it doesn’t.
There may be a slight correlation with rank and K/D, but it is not a reliable way to measure skill.
in the first year or two of the game when everyone was playing and there were no second accounts, yes.
Now, as stated above, rank is a decent indicator that a player is at least OK, though I have seen a few players with ranks in the black hexagons with KD’s below .8
Rank is a measure of the amount of time you’ve put into matchmaking. So it does factor in, but it is not reliable.
no it doesn’t, its just a video game
I just play Big team and try to have fun
