Evening all…Ive been absent from the community a while but Halo 5 & The MCC has got me excited! Also my 1st created thread…
Im just wondering if anybody thinks the direction they are going with Halo 5 matchmaking is this arena type league they seem to show in the Gaurdians trailer. With lights and crowds and giant scoreboards. Please I really hope not! I honestly dont like how they want have a “reason” for the matchmaking to take place like in Halo 4. It only seems to box them in & limit ideas when doing stuff like this.
I would be fine with this for the beta but not the full game. Or maybe even in a brand new non-halo related game it could be great. But its just not Halo.
I think if we as a community are against it we should let 343 know now before its too late. Thx for listening see you on the battlefields!
Time will tell what Halo 5 will actually look like, and what kind of surrounding stuff there really is.
However, i343’s explanation of why things are the way they are, like, Spartans fighting Spartans, is not actually a limitation to what they can do. And in the end, this is all forgotten when the game starts.
Do you really think that real super soldiers of the fourth generation would get Wargame programs like those of Action Sack?
If the Arena portion of Halo 5 features giant scoreboards and crowds, then it’ll have that. I’d even take an explanation as on board competition in order to keep the troops warm over ridiculous Action Sack stuff any day.
However, as it was a CGI video we’ll have to see what actually appears in the real game. They said the Arena part is one part of the multiplayer experience, perhaps not by the exact words, but that is the impression I got, and if it’s part of the Wargame simulations which function as competition between the spartans as opposed to the battle trainings the others are supposed to be, then it’s fine by me.
You have valid points. Its not a deal breaker or anything for me but I really hope it doesnt go that way. Interesting there might be an arena mode in MM. I guess the the skys the limit to what we may get on our 1st original next gen Halo! We’ll have to wait & see i guess! Later!
