does it make me casual if...

does it make me casual if i play to win because i am a naturally competitive player, but i still like to have fun even if that means that i might screw around sometimes?

To me, a casual player is someone that isn’t competitive in Halo and doesn’t care if they win or lose. Playing like this makes Halo much more fun for me. I don’t go off with a little group of people and try to do things non-constructive towards helping the team or anything like that. I just shoot at guys and respawn.

I’m honestly not sure, nor do I think there is a clear-cut definition for “casual” and “competitive”. I play like you, OP, and I consider myself casual.

If the majority of the time you are playing to win, then you are a hardcore crowd. If you play to have fun most of the time you are of the casual crowd.

In this case, you are hardcore

playing to win is hardcore anything less than playing to win all the time is casual

Depends on your criteria for the classification, but general consensus on forums basically seems to be defined by playlist, K/D and W/L.

If you say your naturally cometitive and have a desire to win I wouldn’t classify that as being a casual player. The desire to win is what makes the competitive player and what is hardcore.

Recreational yet competitive.

I say you’re a competitive player that likes to have fun.
I hate the definitions people come up with for casual, and Hardcore gamer. To me this is the only real definition for them.

Casual gamer:
A casual gamer is a player whose time or interest in playing games is limited. Casual gamers tend to play games designed for ease of gameplay and don’t spend much time playing more involved games.

Hardcore Gamer:
Hardcore gamers prefer to take significant time and practice on games, and tend to play more involved games that require larger amounts of time to complete or master.

I play games all the time and I play to win, but I’m not that upset if we lose (Unless it’s in Halo 3, because winning is the only way I can rank up).

I guess I’m Hardcore, but I love Reach. Someone call Starburst, I’ve found a contradiction!
