Does Installing a Halo to Hard Drive Help?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone who installed a Halo game to their hdd noticed any results in load times. I’m a speedrunner, so I play the campaigns a lot. Thanks!

IT actually does increase load times so I would recommend it to anyone plus if your game gets scratched it is always readable. Installing a game is always a +

Thanks!

I find instailling games really makes a differnce. Skyrim played much better after i did this

Yeah, I just installed ODST to try it and the load times are WAY quicker.

Yeah i recomed that any game your gonna put many hours into that you install it, makes a differnce

A Halo wouldn’t fit on your Hard Drive. The smallest variety of Halos are about 10,000 kilometers in diameter. There’s no way you’re fitting that ring onto you Hard Drive, or even your whole Xbox!

Sorry, had to. Anywho, I have Halo 4 running on my Hard Drive and I rarely experience lag, so yeah, I’d say it works great

Ok, ok, that was pretty good.

So as long as there isn’t a warning message like Halo 3’s saying that the game is better off playing on the disc.
My grandfather tried it with all his games, and he’s loading games faster than you can say “>10 Mbps.”

Oh yeah, this has been bugging me on the grammar side, but it decreases loading time, not increasing it. Unless you’re installing Halo 3.

Someone said they noticed an online latency difference when installing Halo 4 to the hard drive…? Explain that for me cause I would love to reap those rewards.

Best part to installing it on your xbox is if your disc gets damaged it may still run without it skipping or locking up your games during your gaming sessions.

If you have the space, definitely do it.

I can’t even playoff the hard drive

Halo 3 and it’s Mythic disk associated with it actually suffers from increased loading times if you install it. Halo 3 was developed and released before the New Xbox Experience (which isn’t new anymore anyway), and that update allowed for game installation. Therefore there was no code to optimize it for playing from hard drive.

However later games beginning with ODST benefit from it. So if you have the space, do it.
