Would love an answer from someone with Halo 4 playtime.
No. The hardlight shield will stop bullets and such, but not a vehicle.
No it doesn’t I saw a video a while ago of someone being splattered with the shield out.

No, it doesn’t prevent any vehicles from splattering you nor can you destroy oncoming vehicles with it.
This was first shown at the Rooster Teeth Expo, video on youtube actually. It’s pretty old now but it confirmed that HS can’t do much of the BS that Armor Lock was capable of.

This is something that will be amazing in Halo 4. I can’t begin to sum up my hate for Armor Lock. I don’t understand how someone can be shield less, go into Armor Lock and come out of it with shield. This has happened on many occasions since the TU.

Ah yes too and, the frosting effect as well. It gives players invulnerability after getting out of fully charged Armor Lock. I’ve lost many kills that way thanks to what is the equivalent of invincibility frames in fighting games.
Anyways getting back topic, the Hardlight shield will interesting though it can easily fall into the pit of not being as useful. Timing and awareness when to deploy the shield and being not aware of the draw backs, which are quite severe to the uninitiated. I hope it could be useful for protect team mates, i love to use it for that.
