Does Halowaypoint need an active chatbox for all the users of halowaypoint to use to speak to each other not just in post but at the same time do you think so ?
I think that any extra they can add to please customers would be a good addition.
Those are fun, but waypoint is already slow and loading extra scripts would likely only make it worse. It would also need to get something that plays nice with their forum software and is easy to use for mods since we’d likely post lots of stupid/disallowed stuff in a chat.

The mods are incapable of running a forum. A chatbox would bring about the end of days.
Would be too much work for the moderation team to be honest, monitoring forums as well as a chat box would be a hard task.

On-Topic - I wish there was a chatbox here, although on my screen it says there are 40,000 Users online and that would be a lot of people…

Very true. We would require dedicated resources to constantly monitor the chat box. Since all moderation team members here are volunteers, it’s difficult to achieve that.

The mods are awesome at running the forum. It’s sorta impossible to control a live chat box though, could get out of hand really quickly depending on how many violators there are…

Off-topic Answer- Spartan iron, or superintendent
On Topic Answer- The only way I can see a chatbox working on a site with 40,000+ members would have to be if it was divided into multiple chat rooms so the spam itself wouldn’t overwhelm everything

Actually, it isn’t just Spartan - Iron & Superintendent, you can also be a Monitor & Admin.

Yeah thats true I just said where the signature starts. 
So in conclusion I don’t think a chat box will be added anytime soon.
If anything close to the tens of thousands of people used it, it would be difficult for readers to keep up with it. This size would be better suited to an IRC type system, but I don’t think 343 cares and that sort of chat isn’t often (ever?) officially used for console games.
