Does halo reach even have anti-aliasing?

I’m playing on a monitor that is 1920x1080p and on the xbox settings I have it set to 1080p, I go ingame and it has been a while since I played reach, I wanted to try the campaign again, so I am used to the xbox one and MCC graphics. The anti-aliasing, if there even is any is god awful in 1080p. I believe the games native resolution is 720p.

IIRC did they swap out anti-aliasing for HDR lighting?

Every game on the Xbox 360 has anti-aliasing. There is no game on PS3 and Xbox 360 with no AA…

I just tried Reach on my Xbox One which is hooked up to a 1440p monitor. The aliasing in Reach is really bad looking. I wonder if that’s just how it is or if there is something wrong with the back compatibility.

Reach supports 2xAA temporal which means anti-aliasing (2x) is only enabled when the camera isn’t moving. The effect is clearly apparent on native Xbox 360 hardware but I’m not entirely certain if it’s present through backwards compatibility.

Not true. Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST to name a few has no anti-aliasing whatsoever.
