I’m trying to install Halo PC again, but it won’t let me. Is it because it’s a Windows 7?
Nope, I can run Halo PC on Windows XP, Vista and 7, all flawlessly.
Try running in compatibility mode.
I’m 100% sure it should work on windows 7, vista, xp so not really sure why it wouldn’t work on yours.

Yeah, I have H2 and I know it only works on Vista.

It works on Windows 7 but it’s a real gamble to get it working.

Wrong since Halo 2 vista works perfectly on Windows 7, I can confirm it, also if you had problems with it running in windows 7 you could try windows compatibility mode which is what I also use for classics like Doom.

My friend has Halo 2 running perfectly on Windows 7 64-bit.
possibly the smoothest game that runs on his rig.
Halo CE PC and Halo 2 will run fine on a Windows 7 PC. The issue with Halo 2 is that that game is very picky about hardware.

It actually depends on your graphics card, I can’t remember the specifics but some new graphics cards won’t run H2 Vista with Windows 7. It may work perfectly for you but there are people who can’t run it at all even though their PC specs may be WAY over what is needed.
It has to be installed correctly to work.
When I played Halo 2 on my old PC, it was really glitchy. I was disappointed because I never got Xbox LIVE until after the 360 came out. I played H2 on my Xbox, but I never had LIVE, so I was pumped to be able to play it online. I loved Halo CE online for the PC though.
Both games work on Windows 7. H2 might give you some trouble though. For me, I had to delete my Catroot2 folder every time before playing.
Halo CE PC should work on Windows 7 but Halo 2 may have some issues.
Mine works just fine on windows 7 64-bit. Maybe you have a hardware compatibility problem or a corrupted disc.

Exactly, H2 Vista is very particular about specifications and hardware, it’s a pain really.

Works for me also… maybe try getting the latest patch?
it’s glitchy i tried for like 2 weeks to get it to install gave up and came back 5 months later and it worked first time.
