Will you give up entirely if S2 doesn’t deliver? Will you stick around and hope S3 (assuming they they don’t pull the cord on this game if S2 fails) delivers what S1 and 2 didn’t?
Forge and Desync
To get people back they need to get Forge online and get people playing customs.
At that point creators can make their own maps, add game modes and content problem solved.
They can then focus on making armour cores and cosmetics.
Plus, they can probably lean on some of the cinematic trailers for the new season and possibly Campaign DLC if that gets announced at E3 with the Roadmap. They do get people talking about Halo.
But a mixture of strong marketing and substantial content; it could drag people back to get a core of reliable players.
Desync needs no explanation. It does hurt the game and needs to be sorted else it drags everything else down.
Season 2 from what we have seen probably won’t matter. It was meant to be a stop gap season and has had co-op dropped from it.
Edit - Oh, I am here for the duration. I do enjoy playing the odd multiplayer match. But Campaign is my thing, although 343 hasn’t been making my life easy since they killed Cortana off. Still, they have the plot hook of vengeance and I have some question marks over the whole thing. Season 2 trailer might even clear some of them up. But no I don’t see myself uninstalling the game because Season 2 only had a few maps and they confirm the Created all got retconned.
The better weather and summer are fast approaching. There’s absolutely 0% chance of me playing this game if S2 doesn’t deliver a healthy amount of content and fix the issues that are plaguing this game.
I just want something to strive for - the second season battle pass for instance.
The rank reset was deflating, and now with all of the other weapons still in SWAT…
Games that were disasters have come back from the brimstone before. It obviously is unacceptable that Halo, Microsoft’s flagship series, launched the way it did, but it’s not impossible for a comeback.
I will play Halo Infinite if it’s good. It doesn’t really matter how many seasons they mess up. I mean, it matters, but there is no point where I will leave it forever with no chance of redemption.
