I’ve been told by a friend today that they’ve stopped playing Halo 5 because the aiming sucks. I fail to see why. Can someone explain to me in simple terms why the aiming is poor on Halo 5 as I’ve seen a few comments about it.
It’s janky AF.
It can be a little temperamental at times but with a little practice people will get uses to it.
The aiming system in Halo 5 looks like garbage with side of -Yoink-. The aiming system to me reminds me of COD WAY TOO MUCH. I have played Halo since Halo 3 came out and I LOVED Halo ever since! But now since 343 took over Halo, now Halo is starting to go the other direction (Mulitplayer of Course). 343 is taking Halo’s story on the right path, but mulitplayer is listening a GPS that has the voice of Siri, going down South.

Crystal clear man, thanks.
Ive gotten more use to it but that’s because I have to use a play and charge for it to somewhat work better
Guys, thanks, but no-one has explained WHY it sucks.
okay from what I hear there’s two reasons why people don’t like the new aiming system. one of them is a bug and the other one is the new aiming itself. apparently with some older controllers there is a bug with the new a mechanic were aiming diagonally slows down your aim tremendously there’s a fix coming for this. now the new aim mechanic itself has aim acceleration. this is where fully pushing (or around 100-90% pushing) of the stick to any given direction increases the aim speed from the norm. this basically gives your aiming stick two aiming modes. one precision aiming and the other turn aiming. I hope I explained everything clearly.
I love it. My controller isn’t having any of the deadspot issues, though.
And I’m loving the reduced aim assist.
It is annoying that auto aim can’t be toggled off, honestly. If I’m gunning at two players close together the crosshairs will be dragged in crazy directions because of how confused the feature gets. This basically means you’re screwed if you have a precision weapon.
Basically all you need to do to beat players is fight as a pair and dance around each other. I’ve seen a lot of players work like this.
I’ve been getting used to it but if was and sometimes drives me insane, my aim was real slow left and right and I couldn’t make precise movements.
But I’m slowly getting better, I’m still hoping to tweak stuff when they add the new options.
Kinda wish Microsoft would allow me to use my 360 controller’s.
I think there’s less auto-aim than in previous games. So anyone who’s been paying halo or any other FPS on console regularly has to go through an adjustment period to allow their motor skills to catch up. Some people expect to be as good at Halo 5 as they were in other Halo’s so when it’s harder to kill people and there’s a learning curve some people just go ,“Halo 5 SUCKS, SCREW THIS GAME POPULATION WILL DIE IN AN HOUR I WANT MY MONEY REFUNDED EVERYONES A TRYHARD WHERE MY SANDWICH MOM?”
Linkey McLinkerson has the answer. But anyway, a dev member posted in the forum saying only a few were struggling. I find it good, I also felt something but anyway I got used to it.

It’s not, it’s a little slow, but not bad.
Definitely takes some getting used to
I’ve adapted and have no issues with the aiming.
Ive adapted too but 343 said they will fix the Deadzone in an early update.
I thought it seemed a little fickle, even when I had my sensitivity turned down a good bit. I wasn’t sure if it was just because I was new to the halo series or not though
Meh, takes some time to get used to, but once you get a feel for it, its no different than any other fps, a least it doesn’t do snapshot headshots.

This is one of the issues people are having problems with. You can see how the sensitivity spikes once you hit that degree of tilt on the thumbstick.
