Does Halo 5: Guardians have any launch issues?

I was the unfortunate majority who purchased Halo the MCC at Launch day and played through the horrors that were know as “matchmaking”. As the old saying goes:“fool me one, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” Learning from my mistakes, I decided to hold off on purchasing Halo5 until there is more valid community feedback on Halo5’s network status. That being said, how is Halo 5 holding up? Are there any matchmaking issues? Such as, long match-making pairing times, high latency games, dropped/kicked out of games, bugs/glitches, etc. things that were present in the MCC that hurt the game is what I am concerned with.
As a side note, I am a huge fan of Halo’s lore. I love the multiplayer, too. I just can’t afford to spend $100 on a game again that does not work.
Thank you to all well informed responses!

I was also unfortunate in buying MCC at launch and never played it after the first week.

I can happily say that I have not experienced any of the issues I did with MCC. My party was able to stay together switching between lobbies, matchmaking was quick, and we had only one connection issue during the 3 hours we played last night.

Other people are having some issues with account authorization and while I saw it when I first started playing I just killed the game and started it again and everything worked for me 5 minutes after launch.

Thank you!

I’ve had 0 problems and 0 lag despite being on DSL.

The only problem I’ve had is trying to complete one of the hardest EVER Halo levels in the history of Halo (over 100,000 years)

Everything as been running PERFECTLY for me.

I’ve only been able to play one matchmaking game. I got the digital download that came with the H5G Xbox One Console. I will get into a lobby and get matched with other people, then when it gets to step 4/4 game loading I get an error saying “Unable to join. The request to join has timed out. Please try again.” So yeah I’m having issues with multiplayer, none with Campaign though.

What level is that?

I haven’t seen any problems so far with launching the game

I have not seen any problems the matchmaking is good at loading!

I haven’t been having any problems with it launching

I feel you, I stuck it out and played MCC through all the crap. I am incredibly proud and happy to say that there have not been any launch issues.

Only fault I can find is my damn AR skin with the sword

I’ve randomly seen people get dropped from games, and I have dropped randomly as well for some reason.

But apart from that, everything has been ok.

Haven’t played due to the 55gb preload issue that many others are having. Even after following proper instructions to as to file size, reinstalling, etc. So didn’t get to play on launch. Lots of people are locked out from their game right now.
