Hello everyone, I have a serious question that involves Halo 4’s gameplay mechanics.
Do you guys and gals think Halo 4 absolutely needs Sprint?
In all honesty, I do not believe so because with Halo 2-3, you could already walk fast without Sprint. No one ever had a problem with it until Reach.
But thats my opinion.
Seriously though, will sprint actually make Halo 4 any more competitive than Reach? Because as many of you know, Halo Reach wasn’t uber competitive.
343 said Halo 4 is THEIR game, and that definitely does not mean that they are legally confined to adding useless Reach aspects that people still have a problem with in Reach.

This statement seems to contradict the title of your thread.
And having played Halo 3 today for the first time in a year, I can say that change is definitely welcome.

i feel the same way. played h3 for the first time in a while the other day and i found myself missing sprint. when i played it before reach i didn’t feel like it needed to be there but now it (kinda) does. ya know?
I honestly don’t care if Sprint is in Halo 4 or not.

I’ll care for you. I’ll care for us all and may god have mercy on Halo’s soul.

I’m mostly neutral on the matter as well, but while playing Halo 3 I missed it quite a lot. Regardless of what people think of its inclusion in multiplayer, it definitely works in campaign. I tend to roleplay the campaign as much as I can (i.e. immerse myself in the character), and when a new, very pressing objective is shouted at me through the radio, I feel the need to sprint towards it.
As long as it has a new and different feel from previous halo multiplayers, I’m fine with whatever 343 does.
