Does Halo 4 have scout warthogs?

Could it be? It may not be a big deal, but I have wanted scout warthogs (warthogs without turrets) to be in forge. I’m assuming Halo 4 will have forge. It looked like in one of the video’s the chief was in a scout warthog. crosses fingers

Those are called Mongooses.

yeah i think it was the scouthog in the vidoc. Yes, add some more variety. don’t make it ‘maybe’ drivable like it was in reach, when its getting powned by those 2 wraiths.

But yes to scouthogs. This would also be great for machinimas.

> Those are called Mongooses.

uh, no. if youre saying there is no difference between these 2 vehicles, then you are quite wrong

I think he means the actual Warthogs without gunners like the ones in the Halo 3 campaign.

> Those are called Mongooses.

But we want a MANgoose!

A terrain owning machine which can carry many a men! >x(

I would love to see the Transport Hog make a comeback, Especially into Forge and Customs.

sounds pretty cool

I did not say or imply that but thanks for caricaturing me with a ridiculous strawman. Shall I speculate on what you’re saying?

do you mean the troop transport hog?

Transport hog? Hell yea!

I think by Scout Hog, he means a Warthog without a turret or anything else in the back, like we have in Halo Wars.

However, in the video there, we do see a Warthog without a turret, yes, but that’s only because the Warthog and the turrets have been separate entities since Halo 2. To clarify, in the game’s coding and whatnot, we have the turretless Warthog as a base vehicle and then pick which turret to add afterwards. This helps to save tag space, since only one full Warthog model is used rather than one per variant.

In short, they model the Warthog without a turret, then model every turret separate and let the game stick whichever one on there as is needed.

Though I would love to have a Scout Warthog to play around with, though it would tread on the Mongoose’s role of a two-seater scout vehicle.

Variety is never a bad thing. The more vehicles and types of vehicles, the better. I absolutely loved the fact that there were three different Warthogs in Reach, four if you count the Transport Hog.

But Warthogs with no turret or civilian vehicles would be great.

Here’s to hoping the Elephant comes back.

Yes, but I would personally like to see an armored hog as well, slower, but can carry 2 extra soldiers like the scout hog, and still has the M41 LAAG.

An armoured hog would defeat the purpose of the warthog and be inferior to the tank. They are designed as light vehicals so there is no point in adding more armour.

The transport warthog might be a nice thing to have, but only in forge for custome gametypes, it would be pointless in matchmaking because we already have the Mongoose you don’t need an entire team to scout.

Then it’s not scouting anymore.

The more mongooses on the map the better.

stand on top of the mongoose if you want 3-4 guys in the goose.

I miss me some transport Hog, Theres nothing better than flying into a war zone with 4 other guys with ya 8)

That is exactly what I mean.

I was talking about the Troop Hog all along. C’mon guys! xD

1 lucky Rocket + Fully loaded Scout Hog = Instant Killing Spree.
I think that’s why Bungie removed passenger seats in the Falcons.

I’d like it in Forge though, for Machinima purposes, of course.
