Does Halo 4 feel like the past Halo games?

NOT. EVEN. CLOSE.

I was recently on YouTube and I found this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss_phYj-uOc

In the video (around the 16 second point) the guy commentating in the video starts talking about how this 343 employee said that Halo 4 was going to stay to its roots (feel like a Halo game.) Obviously that was completely false.

If this is 343’s idea of a Halo game that stays true to its roots than I honestly wonder who is down there at 343.

Did they really think that things like sprint, ordnance drops, flinch, perks, specilizations, no in game 1-50 system, ranks that last for a month, boring maps, Spartan Ops, and this Infinity Multiplayer story crap is Halo’s original roots?

What were you guys thinking? Was that just something you said so that you can get Halo Veterans to buy your game?

Or maybe you did have a True Halo Game but then you scrapped it because you knew that CoD players wouldn’t buy it because it’s a Halo game.

If that’s the case then you were completely wrong because they didn’t buy Halo 4 they bought CoD.

And now we’re stuck with this.

yup they lied to us. I don’t remember spawning with jetpacks and camo in halos roots

If your asking does it feel exactly like CE or does it feel exactly like Halo 2/3, then the answer is no. But Halo 4 feels like Halo never the less. At least it does to me.

With Halo CE-3 Bungie took baby steps when trying to improve the game. They did a very good job at making the game feel like Halo but still making it a little different and fun. With Halo 4 it was like a leap in the wrong direction.

You know, I went and played some Reach and Halo 3 today. I found myself bored and I popped in Halo 4 to have some fun. I realized that I do love Halo 4 for some reason, and at least to me Halo 4 feels like a modified Halo game,

It feels like a CoD game with a few Halo elements thrown into it.
And I really can’t say that Halo 4 was a successful game that everyone was popping into their disk trays after looking at the population.
I have actually gone back to Halo 3 and have had more fun than I ever had playing Halo 4. EVER.

Honestly, the only reason why I do not spend more time in Reach and in Halo 3 is because its so difficult to get a match, let alone a good one.

Also, Team Throwdown and Rumble Pro feel like Halo to me.

Not at all. H4 is not Halo.

H4 is not a true Halo game. It feels more like a spinoff of sorts.

Hopefully 343i can make up some lost ground with H5, or just give us H2A and let us forget H4 ever existed.

I recently played some halo 4 and got really bored quickly, so i switched over to Call of Duty and realized why should I play a cheap knock off when I can play the real thing. So no it doesn’t feel like a halo game it feels like a Call of Duty game that was shot in both legs with a shotgun and left to bleed out.

The Castle DLC list has some nice maps and game types that feel like the good old days, but other lists like Big Team feel like something else, and not a Halo something else let alone a good something else.

Halo CE to Halo 2 wasn’t a baby step.
