DOES HALO 3 NEED TO MAKE GLORIOUS RETURN?

I think Halo 3 was 15 times better than halo 4 as far as multiplayer goes. I hope to god Halo 5 runs on an updated version of Halo 3’s engine. I’m open for new ideas in the Halo universe as long as in doesn’t change the core gameplay too much. Things like armor abilities, loadout, ordnance, and perks make the game play like something totally different from Halo. At this point Halo should be ashamed to call itself an arena shooter, and Halo Reach and Halo 4 look like genaric games meant to rip off Halo’s multiplayer.

I love the single player, and the story line in the new Halo games, but when I try to jump into multiplayer I find myself getting bored and longing to play Halo 2 or 3. I think I speak for the majority of classic Halo fans when I say I wan’t my game back to the way it once was.

What are your thoughts on this?

Haha, that’s totally and completely ramdom. :stuck_out_tongue:

I enjoyed Halo 3 multiplayer quite a bit more than Halo 4 multiplayer, then I revisited Halo 3 and noticed I enjoyed the multiplayer quite a lot more than 4.
As for the poll, Halo 2:Anniversary was my selected choice.

Wow, look another thread about Halo 3.

I haven’t seen one of these since

It hasn’t really gone anywhere but, it should be given some treatment by 343i.Asto whetehr or not it will be returning in glory, or utter failure, is another matter,

A polished up Halo 3 will not bring players back.

It’s time to move forward, not back.

halo 3’s sun has set a while ago

What do you mean engine? Game engine or core gameplay?

I love it when people talk about how different the “engines” between each Halo are. Not knowing the fact that they’re all running off the same engine but has been updated over the years (like every videogame engine ever created).

My good sir, if Halo 3 multiplayer satisfies you that much, save the rest of the community the disappointment of a copy-and-paste of it in Halo 5 and just play Halo 3.

> It’s time to move forward, not back.

And yet, for no reason, 343i took out so many features from Halo 4 that were in previous Halo games.

Your statement is so ironic that it hurts.

> It’s time to move forward, not back.

Thank God for someone with sense.

Engine means nothing. Halo three’s engine could have run Ordnance drops and Custom Loadouts with a very slight tweak, and equally, Halo 4’s engine could be used for a FIFA game.

Judging by your title, I was expecting the subsequent thread post to say something like:

HALO 3 MAKES GLORIOUS RETURN IN THE PRAISEWORTHY PEOPLE’S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF NORTH KOREA! THE EVIL CAPITALISTS OF THE UNITED STATES USE CUSTOM LOADOUTS AND DISGUSTING ORDNANCE, THOSE SCUM!

Sorry, the title sounds like North Korean Propaganda.

Why there is no “No return.” option?
We don’t need it, Halo 3 is still running, but you can see how many people interested in it. If it really brings back tons of players, then why they don’t play Halo 3 right now? It’s only laggy because nearly nobody plays it.

More players > less lag, and vica versa.

Yes, they did. However, they’ve brought back and improved many features since Halo 4’s launch. In my eyes that is indeed moving forward.

Before this gets locked, I too would like to see Halo actually return to it’s roots and start up from there and do away with cheap time played progression system and clumsily added rankings.

We need top-notch multiplayer maps and less cheap loadouts. The perks, A.K.A Armour Mods are a step in the wrong direction. Modifying player traits such as increase explosives and decrease in explosive damage and player speed are bad, taking away standard traits and forcing us to choose them are even worse. Why do I need a perk to pick up a grenade?

Complain to Microsoft so they will be willing to accept the change back to normal. Hopefully the numbers just keep getting lower and lower and they realize the majority of their community doesn’t like all the added in BS and gets rid of most of it for Halo 5. They’re seeing the sales numbers and they weren’t so bad, so they are probably figuring people like it.

It’s obvious they don’t listen to 343, so it’s time for the fans to bombard them if you want change.

> Or Halo 5 can be it’s own game. If you want halo 3 so badly go play halo 3. It’s seriously that simple.

Halo 3’s MM is not the same as it once was. I haven’t played it since Throwdown was put in, but before you literally couldn’t find a good match and it took 10 minutes to find a match at all.

The game play is still fun as ever, but between the lag and the unskilled players it’s not as fun as it once was. People complain about Halo 4 being laggy, Halo 3 is terrible.
