Does Halo 3 feel different after Reach?

Ever since Reach came out, Halo 3 felt like it changed when I started playing it more. Namely, BRing and sniping for me became a lot harder. I was much better before reach, and no matter how long I play Halo 3 it’s still hard.

I was thinking if they maybe moved servers to Reach (or something like that) so Halo 3 has more “lag”? It just seems so many shots aren’t registering when I know they should, even with Halo 3 hitboxes.

Still better gameplay than Reach. Rather play a laggy H3 than a smooth game of Reach.

It’s probably due to the fact Halo: Reach is hit scan especially on a BR and Sniping front, If you don’t know what hitscan is I’m sure google will be able to inform and save myself some button clicks. Secondly there are a larger selection of Hardcore Halo fans on Halo 3 as it is widely seen as a more competitive episode of the serise.

Therfore it is likely that your playing against more formidable opponents than pre Halo Reach launch,

Lastly Halo: Reach is critisized for being a more casual and less competitive and core Halo game, Therefore If you agree with the critics like I do then you may believe that Halo 3 takes more skill and ability because of its unforgiving gameplay that we came to grow and love, AND THEN THERE WAS REACH,

Ahh Reach Rant #1 of today for me.

Same here. However, I realized the only problems I had were taking pacing DMR shots into Halo 3 BR shots and that’s a big no-no in Halo 3. It’s not necessary. Once I fixed that problem, they pretty much felt the same.

Halo 3 is definitely different. It’s a lot faster and easier to be honest. The only problem with it is lag due to small Australian population still playing it.

Halo 3 isn’t as easy as Reach.

I recently had a few games on Halo 3 and had a blast. Sure, lag is an issue, and aiming certainly isn’t as smooth as Reach, but it was a lot of fun. Hopefully, the Beta Hoppers makes Reach just as enjoyable.

Agree whole heartedly , although i am not in aussie. Went back to halo 3 a while back, it was so easy it was jut ridiculous. The only thing I like more about halo 3 is the fact that the aim assist is much lower, reach’s aim assist is INSANE, although, I use the NR, so the aim assist is minimal with that weapon. But yes, halo 3 is much easier, and a bit faster, due to smaller maps, and less hiding.

I meant is Halo 3 different from what it was before… As in did Halo Reach somehow affect Halo 3? I got my answer from most of these guys, but just clarifying.

Yes I feel a lot more appreciative of H3 right after I play Reach.

“Smooth Game Of Reach” ? Is that even possible? Honestly, Halo Reach has so many Frame Rate issues it’s not even funny. For Example just look at a blown up Wraith sometime especially through a Sniper Scope at its first zoom. Halo Reach has such horrible frame rate issues it just makes me laugh so many times because older games run better than this garbage.

H3 is much laggier now. I don’t know why it is, but it’s likely what’s making it harder now.

Probably still running off Bungies crappy servers. Even if it isn’t it’s just probably Bungie’s fault for allowing the game to have Frame Rate issues in the first place.

For some reason, I do better in 3 than in Reach.

Probably because the game is better.

Doesn’t feel different to me. BR still sucks, netcode is still crappy, etc…

It does feel different to me. I wasn’t too good in Halo 3 back then. But after playing Reach, when I play Halo 3 I do a lot better than before. But its the lag that just kills the fun for me.

That’s because H3 is awful. It was and always will be the worst halo game in the franchise(not counting ODST and wars of course).

HCE>>>H2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Reach>>>H3

Yes, It feels better than I remember it being.

Please, I want factual answer not an opinion… Especially one most people who’ve played both games would disagree to. No offense, but chances are, if you like Reach more than 3 (in comparison for the year it was made), it’s probably because you suck. BUT that’s not my debate. This isn’t even a debate actually.

Has Halo 3 changed at all after Reach’s launch (nothing to do with the actual Reach game itself)?
