When someone ground and pounds is it more damage the higher you are or how long you hold the button to charge it up?
When i melee someone doing a ground and pound they get an instant kill…
I believe the only thing that influences ground pound damage is height. There’s really no reason to charge it any longer than you have to.

But when you jump up to melee someone you are super close and they still get an instant kill.

As I understand it all direct hits result in death regardless of height. All extra height does is add a greater chance of killing them without a direct hit.
I don’t know I have gotten some kills from not very high up, but their shields could have been down as well. To me it seems instant kill no matter what. Kinda like an assassination.
I’ve gotten a kill using ground pound when someone jumped in it’s path essentially right in front of me when I started. I think the kill is based on proximity to the point of impact. Direct contact seemingly results in a kill no matter the height or charge time (provided you initiate a successful ground pound). Damage then seems to decrease as a function of radial distance from the point of impact.
Height plus how long you charge increases the area of effect of the Ground Pound. Not being high enough means no area of effect damage. Landing directly on top of another Spartan, no matter high or how long you charge the Ground Pound, is an instant kill.
As long as you charge above the head and charge fully it should kill one shot

Ok, i got the answer to all of y’alls… remeber that assanation where you essentially ground pound somewon?
Ya, case closed its on how accurate you are:laughing:

I think it’s the farther you are away, the more time you have to lose momentum, which in turn loses damage. I once ground pounded a player from halfway across the map after fleeing a banshee.
I think height because holding down the charge shouldnt make a big difference.

And get the target in the little aiming circle, or at least close. I’ve missed my fair share of GPs.

Terminal Velocity? If so I’m rocking that assassination currently. Good representation because you land directing onto them.

Not true. I’ve jumped in the air countless times from the same height as the enemy and ground pounded directly onto them and still only taken their shields off. Height and/or distance from the enemy definitely plays a factor.
Depends on the Splash damage or how weak you Target is…maybe I don’t do Maths

it depends on whether or not you land on them.
i believe ground pound kills depend on Point of Contact. The charge and/or height should be irrelevant since you are at “full speed” as soon as you release the charge. The extra charge time is designed to give you more time to find a target
