Does Gold Trail allow you to use Waypoint?

I have a friend that would like to use Waypoint but doesn’t have gold right now, but does have a gold trail to use.

EDIT: do to poor wording.

If someone uses a gold trail, can they use Waypoint on the 360?

ok thanks I will tell him that, but my question was poorly worded I guess, Do you know if he can use Waypoint on the 360 with a gold trail?
