Does getting kills in Warzone FF matter

One of my teammate was yelling at us for taking his kills and said that he needs the points to stay in first place.

No, outside of the placing system kills only benefit the team. Your team mate is just being greedy.

Edit: There might be a few commendations as well, although based on your story that’s probably not what they were going for.

Edit #2 : it’s also possible he had a legendary boost that took getting first place in kills to achieve. (He would get it back if he didn’t get first place though)

As edited above he was probably working on commendations or more likely the requirements of a boost/jackpot… Or could be a yoink and just doesn’t like people “stealing” his kill. The only time it bothers me is when teammates, especially in regular Warzone, see you in an assassination animation and then clearly kill them to take the kill.

I suspect A. He was working on commendations or B. He was a noob.

There is no reward for having the most kills, score, or boss takedowns at the end.

as sniper945 says, they’re being greedy
That said there are commendation Paks that can be earned, Warden, Ghost just to name a couple, but the more faster kills are made in each round determines how much time you have to kill the end Boss of that round (when there is one), so my reply to them (if I thought it worthwhile in the first place), would be “Then you better start killing them faster”
I’ve got most or all of the commendation paks so I’m concentrating on trying to kill more and die less per round and get the set won then whether I’m number 1 thru 8

There is the satisfaction of getting first place if someone is competitive like that.

I still don’t really understand the scoring system in FF, but it does affect the amount of XP you get so I’d say at minimum you’d want to get the boss kills. One example is sometimes I won’t get the round 5 Warden kill and my XP will end up only being in the high 8 thousands where usually it’s in the 9 thousands if I do get that kill.

There is with certain boost and jackpots

I was referring to without those AI boosts & jackpots. My bad!

As long as everyone else was in the game with you at the time, you wouldn’t get more XP & REQ points than anyone else that played from start to finish, regardless of performance.

Sounds like it could be both.

Here’s my opinion: it shouldn’t matter. When you try to outscore your team to get first place, it sucks the fun out of Warzone Firefight. That poor guy who yelled at his team was taking the game way too seriously. They should make it so the “mission: victory” boosts apply when you complete all five rounds, instead of having to also get first place.

In fact, I always sell my “mission: victory” boosts for Warzone because when I would select it and play WZFF, I found myself worrying about getting first place, and that made it not fun anymore. It’s just what I do; I can’t enjoy it when I put those boosts on, so I sell them. That guy needs to chill

That “teammate” needs to tone down the bad attitude. Because one day he’ll find himself spawning into the middle of a Promethean horde with Mythic level Knights and then he’ll be asking for help. By then his team will just respond with “Nah bro, you need the kill points”

The only thing you get out WZFF is your personal enemy commendations. Sounds to me like he just wants himself to look good on the leaderboard. Tell him to kiss your dairy aire and keep killing everything that moves…lol.

I usually end up driving a warthog, so the points don’t matter to me. Scoring in a co-op mode is dumb anyway as far as I’m concerned.
