Yes it counts
Extermination is a custom variation of the Breakout game mode, so yes, any commendation progress you make will absolutely count. Similar to how Tank World and Mantis Breakout from Action Sack count, any custom variation of the default game modes that make their way into Matchmaking count towards your commendation progress.

That’s true but I would think it would be rather difficult to get an immortal in extermination. But it is a social mode soo probably better odds than ranked breakout

I think you just have to be alive when a round ends for it to count towards the Immortal. I know I got a Bifecta once because I survived a 1v2 encounter during a match when Extermination was first put into matchmaking, though I’m not sure if the same type of thing would really apply to Immortals.

Thank goodness!! Extermination is a great game type!!! Leaps and bounds better then breakout. Castle wars is fun (and it’ll be back I’m sure) but after a few games, it gets pretty boring I think. It’s better suited to the Customs Browser I feel, but that’s me.

It absolutely does! Only time I get any Breakout commendations is when I play Extermination as I’m not a fan of Breakout.
Finally I can tackle those stubborn Breakout commendations more efficiently…such a pain in the -Yoink!-

Nope; you need zero deaths for the whole game. I got one today, but it’s damn unlikely…

The main thing drawing me to extermination is I have a possibility of getting immortal with every game if I’m lucky enough to take on weaker players. It would probably be faster in action sack realistically but I would hate it so much that I’d give up.
