Normally when I get ranked in Breakout I’m a Plat 3 or 4 but this season most of my matches search dragged out to “Continuing to search” and gave me lots of diamond players and even though I won 50% of the time like last season this time I started as a Diamond 1, a rank I never nailed in Break Out before, did the game matching me with anyone it could find actually help me get unusually higher??
It depends but generally I’ve noticed a similar pattern.
Playing 10 games against similar ranks tends to keep you around the same rank, whereas 5 games against lower + 5 against higher ranks tends to help you go up.
Of course, you still need to win in either case, and if the game gives you like 10 matches all against lower ranks then it’s another story.
It’s more risky playing on expanded but I think overall, it tends to give better results as long as you can keep up.
Note: “Continuing to search” just means it’s expanding the pool, which is the same result you could get by playing on the actual “Expanded” preference.
