Ranked is a mess and makes no sense right now. 343i have not clarified a single thing about how it works.
Its a shame because the 1-50 system made perfect sense. We also used to have Ranked Team Slayer/Doubles/Snipers/Objective…
There is a lot missing from the experience and the ranked system is baffling and has no ceiling making it feel like an empty grind.
A bit surprising that champ doesn’t exist as of now. Hopefully the ranking system gets fleshed out a bit more moving forward. I do like the ranking progression right now though. It’s nice that you won’t lose a lot of rank after a loss as long as you preformed well.
Not sure how accurate the champ system is. Rating systems like ELO/TrueSkill need all the top players taking each other on regularly to have any chance of sorting out the fine details. This just isn’t practical with time zones / lag.
Maybe a regional top 200 system?
Just need to call it something else to avoid confusion.
it will come eventually. season 1 is always a mess because its the first season and many are not even in the rank they belong. Some people in high diamond are more like gold or low plat at best. I guess they need to know what’s going to be the cut for champion and there is not enough data yet to support this.
