So recently playing I was expelled for betrayal during a game, it say about 5 mins. Then the same day using grenades as a kid I was expelled again by the same reason, but this time it was going to take 15 minutes to be lifted. My question is, is this time permanent?
For example let’s say the next will be 30 minutes and so on. Or does it resets after a time? Like again only 5 minutes.
Thank you for your attention!
The ban times have been increased. Here is a quote from the thread pinned at the top of the forum:

Damn I thought the increase was coming with season 7. Was wondering why I had a five minute ban earlier on while I was playing since I haven’t left a match or been booted in over 3 weeks now. This explains it.

If they actually had a join in progress system which Halo 4 did just fine, they wouldn’t have to punish quitters so hard, but in Halo 4 players progression actually depended on performance and not just game wins, If I quit just because I don’t want to spend the next 10 minutes getting cheesed in an already lost game because of inevitable afkers or babies who quit right away when they don’t get the map or gamemode they want, making me wait 15 minutes to try and play again is just going to make me not want to play the game.
Timer resets daily unfortunately. Any reason you managed to betray 6 people in 2 games?
What’s really awesome (sarcasm) about it is that the system itself can’t tell if you quit or if MCC crashed. Example. Playing today with a buddy to do our weeklies I had my MCC crash 3 times. That’s a 30 min ban I’m now under. I never quit those matches, if I had I wouldn’t be so fing pissed off. Thanks 343

Especially with a grenade betrayal. That almost has to have been intentional, since MCC tries to count it as an enemy kill if at all possible.
I think the real question is if this griefer doesn’t need a longer ban, since they clearly intend to jump back in and do the exact same crap.
This still doesn’t help the issue at hand. People still leave or don’t do anything and matches are still trash. Increasing ban time is pointless as I have seen no change in leavers and afkers. Implementing mid-match joining would actually solve the issue at hand because I have seen it work in games that do have such a system.

That happened to me during invasion, the first was throwing grenades where the enemy is invading those safe points you have to protect. I was also betrayed many times but well, is reasonable when it happened.

It’s easier to get a base betrayal than you seem to think. One terribly placed plasma grenade or unaware teammate and it’s done.

It’s really not. I’ve tossed bad grenades, it happens, but I don’t tend to get a betrayal for it. I’ve also seen enemies that were clearly killed by teamate grenades credited to me because I dealt damage with an AR or SMG a few seconds earlier. If you’re regularly getting grenade betrayals, you’re either doing it on purpose, or being careless.

While I do agree with the first part, I disagree with the joining mid-match. Halo 5 has a mid-match system and that caused people to consistently leave games. Especially if you joined and you were immediately loosing 10-35 in BTB or 10-70 in Warzone.

Well at least I can try and enjoy what’s left of that game instead of sitting in one for 10+ minutes fighting 1 dude, after 3 leave, and he isn’t doing anything. Like I did tonight. Okay, so people leave, congrats, they have poor sportsmanship. I don’t care. At least I have a full team while fighting a full team instead of wasting my time for twice as long then as if I were to leave. Instead of sitting there like an idiot farming pointless kills, not having fun, getting angry, going afk or, maybe just leaving.
I will take mid-match over anything than the dumpster fire we have going now. Increased ban times are pointless and are not working.

That was me sitting in an active match waiting for the 10 minute timer to drop to 0 and the match to end instead of just bailing and taking the 5 minute ban. 3 people on the enemy team had left the game within the first 30 seconds. SBMM had no influence on that whatsoever. But that should be dropped as well as far as I am concerned.
