I keep hearing people talk about “sleeker” armor being better. Does it really matter?
I don’t think it really matters the bullets will hit no matter your armor its all about people’s aim.
It hasn’t really mattered in the past, I don’t see why it would now.
Yes. I remember when I saw someone with Recon or Hayabusa (back in H3 days) and I absolutely trembled. I bowed and let them kill me, as they deserved it.
Wait, nvm. That was me wearing the armor.
It might affect people, and theoretically different silhouettes might be harder for some people to see, but no, the armor does not affect the game intrinsically at all.
I guess the larger helmets could effect you in SWAT maybe.
no
Armor does not effect the gameplay, it just changes how your Spartan looks. And to me that’s a good thing.
the player model that your bullets hit doesn’t change between armor, it’s only the visual model that changes. That said, if a guy in fotus armor is behind low cover you might see their horn and then know where they are.
No, it doesn’t matter. At all.
I just personally enjoy sleeker armor. The new armors are so bulky. We look like transformers.
Big profile is easier to hit!
doesnt matter at all. some armour is slimmer and has a smaller head to hit, but not a difference to tell
no just don’t get a huge helmet hitbox.
Yes and no. Hitboxes are not affected at all. But some armour is more visible than other armour, making those players easier to spot. It’s more a strategic effect than gameplay effect.
Armor is just cosmetic, there’s no special effects other than the prettiness of it. Maybe some armors make you easier to snipe, like helmets that are all visor can be argued to cause an effect, but overall it’s no real change.
Visors if anything. Makes a clearer shot for the head. Blue team with a pink visor. Not a good idea

Agreed - while it’s only visual you can be a slightly smaller target (I’ve heard similar conversations about being a female spartan). There is also something to be said about the designs and color schemes on your armor. In free for all this can unconsciously paint you as a primary target.
No, Armor does not affect gameplay. It’s merely cosmetic.
no it doesn’t matter the hitbox is still the same…that’s how sometimes if you look at a replay really closely it looks like a sniper bullet missed a headshot off to one side (as an example) but it still counts as a hit if it falls within the area that is considered a “hit” regardless of armor size. This area is like an imaginary box or sphere that surrounds the player very closely. At least that’s how my game designer friend described it to me awhile back.
