Whenever I jump into Team Slayer, Rumble Pit, or basically any playlist that allows custom loadouts, I see most if not everyone using the BR or any other precision weapon. I’m usually the only one that uses the SR for a decent amount of matches and it is a very good weapon. Do you think the automatics are too weak and 343 didn’t make them strong enough? Or do the automatics don’t seem to have a place anymore in Halo. Personally I think the AR, SR, and SP are good enough in their own right. But they do have a lot of factors working against them.
The storm rifle is strong in its niche, it’s more of a backup weapon than a primary though. The AR is the best of the automatics because ammo is plentiful most of the time.
At higher levels, players won’t use autos because precisions have a better reward if you’re good with them but at lower levels they work fine.
Oh yes, the SR is my go to weapon and I also use the assault rifle extensively. They are very good weapons that shred close range. You need to be good though. People don’t seem to realize how good they are, because of the fact most who do use them are not very skilled players.

A spoon can be a deadly weapon in the hands of someone who’s really skilled in killing people with spoons. Doesn’t mean it’s an ideal weapon to bring to a fight. Since sprint has made maps in Halo larger and larger the precision weapons are obviously going to be the sensible choice for 95% of your fights.

Well my theory is I’m going to pick up a battle rifle or what not off a corpse soon enough anyways, and they spawn all over the map and I took the time to learn where so there is that too.
Worst comes to worst I still have my trusty magnum for midranged work.
Yes I do the AR is mm most trusted gun.
It helps that I have a knack for getting in close.
Actually… the AR makes a good job in medium-close ranges
and the SR melts people in seconds, is my secondary with a BR or the Carbine
Sure do. It’s my second mosed used weapon in H4 with the DMR being the first.
I have a special loadout I use the AR in, I call it my rage loadout. It is for when the game is annoying me so much because I am getting AR spammed and Boltshotted round every corner by every player on the enemy team cough abandon cough So i made this loadout to give them a taste of their own medicine:
AR (occasionally the BR)
BS
PV
Plasma Grenades
Shielding
Dexterity
All you need to rain on someones parade
This is my least used loadout.
Ever since the BR came into existence in Halo 2 I stick with precision rifles 99% of the time. The other 1% is when the unfortunate AR starts got voted in reach or Halo 3 or I ran out of BR ammo in Halo 4 and had to pick up an AR from the ground.
I know how to use the AR and every time I have to use it I am quite effective. I just don’t get any satisfaction killing with an AR is all. So that is why I don’t use hem.
I use it all the time in close quarter maps.
The precision guns should be a little better than the automatic ones, so I say it’s perfect right now.
Using the AR often now to get it mastered and it does feel like a huge handicap after being used to the BR.
I love using the storm rifle, and I want to be able to do well with the suppressor but both are only good if you have a strong connection, even with the slightest bit of lag and they’re basically airsoft guns :C
I always pack an Assault Rifle with my Battle Rifle. Use it a lot actually since I get in to a lot of fights where an Assault Rifle works best at.
I did try the Storm Rifle too. Works great. Suppressor…Never works for me, I put an entire clip in to somebody and they don’t die (And yes, I review the footage and I don’t see too many shots missing). 
AR, suppressor and storm rifle are made for CQC. if u lose against someone who’s far away enough that BR etc. are mor effective, then it’s ur own fault somehow. especially AR for cqc is very very strong since weapon tuning, if u surprise someone with AR in cqc it’s very likely that you’ll win if he hasn’t got perfect aim… however i understand i u don’t like suppressor or storm rifle cause it’s still kinda hard to get kills with them
I use AR and Storm Rifle but no longer the Suppressor. It fell behind in the weapon update because now the Boltshot can beat it in its niche.
