I’m almost at rank 100 and can already tell after I hit rank 130 that I’m gonna struggle to find a reason to keep playing. I know there are commendations but the whole purpose of them is to earn xp so there would be no point.
If 343 added a real skill rank that we could see in game than it would extend this game’s life greatly but without it then the only reason to keep playing after 130 is for fun. Problem with that is the playlists are boring and 95% of the community sniping with DMR’s is not fun.
I might just permanently move on to Black Ops 2 after I hit 130. I have never been bored of a Halo game before. I even played the hell outta Reach for 2 years. But after less than 2 months I already know I’m bored with this game.
I will keep playing because I find it fun. Often times if I find myself getting a little tired of playing I will just mess around in the games with my friends such as trying to get wheelmen on mongooses, drastically changing look sensitivity, or going pistols only and such. I think that the game never really gets boring so long as you add in your own rules to make it fun in new ways because if you keep doing the same thing over and over again you will get bored, you need to change your play-style constantly
It’s a hobby, if you need some other motivation other than fun you’ve got your priorities all wrong. I’m 130 and I keep playing, why shouldn’t I? I play games for fun, not to stroke my online ego.
If you don’t like the game I guess you can move on but I love it, the playlist will be updated soon enough and there are more maps to come. Loving Halo 4 and I plan to continue doing so.
Play because you like the game, for fun etc! I can understand people being bothered about their skill rank (when they come out), but being bothered about adding to their experience rank I cannot understand!

Well the spartan rank is all we have and it doesn’t take long at all to reach. If the skill rank was gonna be visible in game then I wouldn’t care about the spartan rank. There’s nothing else to do other than try and unlock some helmets.
i will get 130 tomorrow. I’m more interested on my banshee bomb kills on halo tracker. I am currently number 12 in the world with banshee bomb kills. wouldn’t mind getting higher.

Agreed…got a Killing Frenzy just using melee, beat down and assassination LOL…have to try different things to keep it interesting. Spent one game on Ragnarok on the Moongoose the entire game going over every jump time and time again, racing past the enemy Mantis etc and never got killed the entire time (no one would get on the back though to get the Wheelman’s you did
though
But, yes, forever trying different things now to see what might be good in terms of play style, as you said, and try different weapons I did not want to touch and still haven’t touched until now, to see what they are like (won’t touch the BS however).
The game is fun, agreed.
I look forward to further map packs, although I haven’t played Crimson DLC since day 2 after its release.
I agree it took me 3 weeks and 5 days to hit SR130 and I havent played since. I got the amazing spiderman for christmas and I enjoyed that more than halo 4.
Im sure alot of people know this as I mention it so much but I have 2 online legit inheritor accounts I played reach so much and I have currently switched back to it. Halo 4 holds zero appeal after SR130 I have all the achvs and legendary solo done I just dont enjoy it as much as I do reach.

No self esteem issues?
We don’t want a ranking system to make our selves feel better by looking down on other people. We want it to compare our selves to other players so we can continue trying to improve ourselves.
I haven’t reached 130 yet and won’t for some time, but it won’t be the reason I stop playing. I will continue to play with friends to have fun and a laugh well after I have reached the max level.
I think a ranking system will be much like game play 2day only difference will be being paired with most players at your skill level, some below and some above so you can rank up of course. The only thing a skill system will do is make halo more playable for really low skill lvl players and long time halo players will still play the same. The main difference will be better balanced games and none of this win one lose 3 win another.

Has nothing to do with self esteem. It has to do with testing your skill and give competitive players something to play for. And you honestly think this has the best mp? It doesn’t even compare to Halo 2 or 3. It’s not even as good as Reach.
Its kinda hard to have fun when there is nothing left to prove or accomplish 2 months after launch.
