I feel as if every time I play Breakout, everyone goes for kills instead of flag runs. Does anyone else feel this way?? I think I only go for kills myself instead of a flag score.
I’ve seen the flag used plenty. Usually as a last resort.
True very true. Just feel as if the flag is just sitting there not being used. Everyone goes for the power weapons and invisibility instead.
It’s used a decent amount. Either way it’s only there for last resort. It wasn’t even in the beta.
Flag just makes you a target imo so I just avoid it and go for kills to make the the quicker.

I never played the beta so I wouldn’t know but I see what you guys are talking about.

Thats what I have seen. Other players use it to distract the opponent team like on a one v one situation.
I usually get the flag to draw out the other team, then ditch it for some easy kills. I’ve only scored a stealth capture once when I was the last person in my fireteam against all four that were still alive from the opposing team.
I score with the flag all the time it was one of the very few good decisions 343 actually made. Plus its a good way to lure people out

Agreed, that’s what I usually use it for.
usually can only get one decent run in with it per game but it can make for some hilarity, my team and I were getting completely curb stomped one game decided I’d one man flag run on regret, went straight up over the middle down the bottom and scored with all four enemies desperately trying to shoot me, needless to say that was the only round we won the rest of the time we had our collective -Yoinks!- handed to us.
i win quick rounds by capping the flag, usually no one pays attention to it. but i think its designed for 1v1 situations to keep people from hiding
The OP has only played 14 games of breakout. The flag is definitely a huge part of the game type. You can score with it to end the round quickly, you can grab it to relocate it so its harder for the other team to score, if your down to a 1v1 and the other person is hiding grab the flag to bait them out…I mean you can come up with a bunch of different strategies with the flag. If it wasnt there, the game type would be unplayable due to hiding/camping.

This, definitely. I think a lot of people forget the flag is there until someone grabs it out of nowhere. Breakout wouldn’t be as great as it is if we didn’t have the flag.
I go for the flag as well.
I score flags quite a bit. I want to try having a friend cause a distraction on the opposite side of the map while I cap the flag, I wonder if that would be an effective strategy.

I’ve done that several times before. But also, if the opponent is al on your own side of the map you can usually grab the flag and race to get it in if you have a buddy watch your back.
I think they implemented the flag so that people won’t hide while they wait for the round to end.
A lot of people who are the last man standing often reside to hiding away. But since there is a flag, they can’t do that because otherwise the opposite team will win.
I think it’s a great addition and shouldn’t be made the main focus of Breakout.
Usually we just kill them because it is hard to get to the flag without dying. But if you are down to that last guy on the other team and he is hiding, it is just easier to end the match with the flag then go hunting for him.
I find that when I play Breakout players go for the flag a lot. They don’t just use it when it is 4 v 1 but also to try and sneak past the enemy using cover and teammates for help.
