DoeS anyone RolePlay with halo?

It’s an interesting question, I mean with all the creative tools that are offered in forge and people making machinimas, I was just curious. But I might be interested in a RvB RP.

I don’t really roleplay as such, but I do like to make up stories around my anonymous Mcfarlane dollies. You know the ones that don’t represent specific characters. But I do that with all of my toys. Yes I still play with toys and I do take collectibles out of the package to play with them, kind of. I’m ashamed to say I’m 24 and forgot to put my toys away.

Lol, you do know we don’t have to ashamed, we all play with toys, it’s just the older we get the more expensive the toys become.

3yrs old = dinky car will suffice,
23yrs old = only the real thing will do.

Edit = On topic, I don’t role play Halo as such, but I do have many toys, Reach Ltd Edition, Reach Console, Halo 3 Helmet, Halo figures, but also Gears, Ninja Gaiden and many other game related things.

That’s the way my dad puts it.

He’s right, I feel the same, and it’s a good excuse to be a big kid every now and then.

Well it doesn’t seem to bother the Japanese. And I view them as pretty wise.

I like to make up stories in “little worlds” based on real world dynamics and science for my favorite items to come together and interact in. It’s actually this mentality that drew me to Halo in the first place. It has an appealing realism.

I do like to role-play with my friends. I usually role-play a Brute or something. Plus I do a good impression of a Brute!

I like to role play Brutes. My friend Grunts and my other friend Elites HAHAHAHAHHAHHAHA

That really isn’t the same…barely even comes close to being similar…

Eviltedi, you’re thinking of Cosplay, which is dressing up in person. It’s what those guys who MJOLNIR suits at conventions do. (I want one)

Roleplay can be done in so many different ways. Through live chat like IRC (Old school stuff right there but a premium for underground roleplay), play by post such as forums, or in game.

I prefer the first two mediums, it is really fun if you’re into the fiction and have people who are intelligent and can use grammar.

… Someone needs to join me at Comic Con sometime… Every year your guaranteed to run into Cortana, MC, and a Spartan II/III equivalent on any day…

I’d said that I’d left, but I lied. I do understand roleplay. I was recently looking into the Battletech Roleplaying Game so I could do it with my younger neice and nephew. It has a whole slew of complicated rules for character creation and faction affiliation that I went cross eyed looking at. I pretend mentally while I play games a lot but I have never done any “formal” roleplay with other people.

I tend to do this for maps i make, i may create a fantasised history of certain areas like an area may have been bombed by mortars, i will put the feel of this on the map.

I’ve play D&D and LARPG and of course I’m a gamer to. So I don’t really see the difference between a McFarlane miniture collicatable role play and just role playing on Reach…

> Playing pretend by yourself and roleplaying with others is the same thing now? News to me. The biggest difference here is that one is by yourself and the other is as part of a group or community. There are other subtle details that make it different however…

Well, my girlfriend does this thing…

lol jk. Actually to answer your question, yes! A couple years ago, I went out paintballing at a local field, and the scenario was centered around Halo. Pretty cool. The “Covenant” had to attack a base of “Spartans”. The Spartans had to hold out for a certain amount of time until “evac arrived”, without having any respawn, while the Covenant team had a respawn timer. It was pretty interesting.
