I seriously loved this weapon from halo reach as it had and has always found a soft spot In my heart. IMO, I think it has the best fight a weapon can have in this game as it is a beam like effect and is not a single shot sniper like the sniper. It can act as a precision rifle and a sniper combined and its damage may slowly increase has the beam continues to fire.
Anyone else agree?
I just played Reach today and I remembered how much I hate the Focus Rifle, I just prefer the quick sniper bullet from a standard Sniper Rifle over the beam of the Focus Rifle.
Was the Focus Rifle any good? I didn’t use it much, because I never could find it. I always thought it was a scoped Sentinel beam weapon.
It was one of the only things I would use, I wish they would bring it back

especially on infection in Halo Reach, the Zombie Ghosts gamemode. Anytime I use that thing I die immediately. Praise the Binary Rifle.
I absolutely hated the Focus Rifle! The spray effect and sound was ugly and any time you would try to snipe something with it, the person you’re shooting at would just walk away like nothing happened and all you did was lose battery power.

Ahh the bacon rifle, was a sentinel beam on steds. I wish some of the Reach stuff returned, like the Plasma Launcher was an amazing weapon and would be hilarious on Warzone, same with the Grenade Launcher. The cloeset we’ve got so far is the new Carbine that fires needler shots.

Yes. Unfortunately, people don’t like classic lasers like the Focus Rifle or Sentinel Beam. They want guns that brutally eviserate their enemies, not just make a hole in them.
I think I should have been more clear about what I am trying to communicate. I would like a remake of the weapon. I like the concept but not the sound of the gun and the time to kill. Halo 5 is a new game after all, they can always change simple stuff like sound and time to kill. I just miss its look and laser like concept

In a way, the Binary Rifle is very similiar in that it is a sniper but needs a beam to connect a little, not a single bullet. Just less sucky and terrible than the Beam rifle. The laser of the beam however was more enjoyable to watch, I give you that.
You basically already have this in the Halo 5 Binary Rifle. Just sayin’.

I didnt care for it either.
I remember that gun. I loved it and I would pick it up and use it whenever i found it.
You could kill other players by focusing on them before it overheats and i remember how everyone hated its guts because they didnt or wouldnt take the time to try it out and learn its secrets.
I also remember the jackal snipers not being able to use it properly either, they would just fire one pulse at you which would only be a minor inconvenience or a jump-in-your-seat moment because you didnt realise they were still there.

I honestly can’t even remember what it was, though the name sounds familiar.
Knowing 343 they’ll just make a beam rifle REQ that shoots a sentinel beam and call it good.
My squad always called it the “Baconater” since you fried the other Spartan with it. It was ok.
It was fun to use in a Custom Game called Ghostbusters tho.
