I haven’t looked at the population recently but I still play sometimes. It’s honestly less hassle than trying to find a game on the MCC. You can’t really find matches on any playlist that requires DLC though.

this person keeps posting wanting to know exact numbers all the time he has more than one post about halo 3 population guys don’t give him answers because i think they are looking to shut down the servers for this game now that its pushing ten years old.
yeah I play it because it still has that OMG this is amazing feeling throughout the map
as far as im aware the population is based on the time of day but it’s about 0-100.(mostly 0.)
I would go back to it regularly if the pop was larger. I soooo miss playing one bomb and other objective games on the H3 maps, but the only thing I can ever play is the social skirmish, because that is the only place I can get games. And then, it is a surprising ratio of rocket slayer on that snow map (can’t remember what it is called.)

I play quite a bit. Played for a few hours today, but kept getting kids that had their first day on Halo 3 in Social Slayer.

Are you serious or is that a typo, I mean, Halo Reach only has about 8,000 at the moment

that is how many were playing at that time
I just jumped on tonight and I was shocked to find the social slayer playlist had 1,000 players more than reach, a game that is backwards compatible on the Xbox One. For a game with 2 consoles to be beat by a game that has split servers ( essentially ) is insane. Even if it’s just one playlist I didn’t really dive into the numbers more than that.
Well this post has given me a spark of hope, I’ll hop on Halo 3 at some point this week and try my luck.
Still some sweaty players play H3 (very few), but in majority are new or casual players
