Just wanting to know while traveling or my internet goes out if I can still play the Campaign on PC, but still unlock achievements with my progress.
Anyone or a mod know?

Does that apply for achievements as well. This playthrough I’ve already unlocked all the cosmetics and lockers so I’m not worried about that, but more so like if I start a Legendary run and finish offline if it’ll still count and will get the achievement for it or if I decide to do a sppeerun for the under 8 hours achievement during the holidays and I can’t connect to wifi while traveling.
tldr; nobody knows 🤷
At this point, I wouldn’t count on anything that requires a sync with an online server to work if you’re not online. People are already having problems with achievements tracking properly even when playing online.
I don’t think 343 can even answer this question for you. I’ve submitted support tickets for achievements that aren’t working properly and this was their response:

They claim that the achievements will eventually be fixed but this ticket has been open for 3 weeks so I’m not holding my breath.
Basically, if you trust 343 that they will eventually fix earned achievements that aren’t unlocked, go for it. But I have seen too many games in the past that were not able to and required the achievement to be redone.
How did you make this post without internet access?
Ah ok thanks. If anything I’ll play but not actually beat the game on Legendary until I get back home with internet if I travel this year.
I didn’t say I didn’t have internet, just was asking that if I travel for the holidays and don’t have access to internet if I’ll still be able to unlock achievements. I also have my phone that I’m using right now at work to respond.
I was just teasing but in reality a gaming laptop or LAN cube or something portable would be the way to go if this is your objective
Xbox + airport security and customs and prepaid years of XB Gold and NTSC/power requirements and all of that tanked my prospects of playing Halo or Gears when I was traveling
So I switched to PC and never looked back. I know some things have improved but I don’t see how consoles and traveling are ever compatible
Yeah I have my desktop for main gaming then a laptop to game while traveling.
Yeah I don’t know how people take consoles with them. Seems like way too much effort at least for me. Would rather use a laptop. Especially now with game pass for PC and stuff and even PlayStation is getting into it that there’s really no reason to take your system with you anymore.
The reason I did was the country I was headed to didn’t have Xbox, officially. I think they do now as I saw, hint, they require by law to have your game pass money prorated back of you cancel mid month
They had some cafes with some consoles but none had online so I could pay $5 and go play some stuff for a while. So bringing it was my only real option. In the end it was dead weight and their strict airport people “confiscated” my 360 (since I couldn’t power it on or show it on a working screen) and delivered it via courier a day after I got back

No it doesn’t. My internet went out for 3 hours due to inclement weather and I was playing through the Infinity campaign. During that time I acquired the Drop Wall and Thruster abilities but did not receive the achievements while offline or online when the connection was restored. Several hours later I fully upgraded both abilities and received the achievements for upgrading them yet still don’t have the achievements for acquiring the abilities in the first place. It’s definitely broken.
